Thank God For A Year of Entering God’s Rest

Entering Into God's Rest

Today, we will thank God for a year of entering God’s rest. What is rest? Rest means to cease work or movement in order to relax, refresh oneself, or recover strength. Rest is an instance or period of relaxing or ceasing to engage in strenuous or stressful activity. There are different types of rest that God is giving us this year. God will give you rest over your children. You will not run helter-skelter over your children because they will give you peace. God will give you rest in your health. You will no longer spend your resources on sickness. The woman with the issue of blood spent so much of her resources by going to many physicians until God gave her rest. This year, you are entering into God’s rest. So, you need to give thanks to God.

Another area where you will have rest this year is in your finance. The widow who was a wife of a prophet had two sons but her husband left a humongous debt for her after his death. The creditors came to take her two sons but she cried to Elisha for help. Elisha gave her an instruction that opened doors of blessings to her and she had a financial rest. God is also giving you a financial rest this year so you need to give Him thanks.

Other Types of Rest

God can give you rest from war. He gave Jehoshaphat rest from war. Three nations came to wage a war against Jehoshaphat and the nation of Judah. They cried to God for help and Jehoshaphat mobilized the singers to worship God. God defeated those three nations by laying an ambush for them. Afterwards, God gave Jehoshaphat rest throughout his reign. Also, when Goliath was harassing the nation of Israel, everyone was troubled and nobody could confront Goliath. David showed up on the scene and he defeated Goliath, the same man who had harassed the nation of Israel for forty days. God is also giving you rest from all forms of war this year. Therefore, you need to give Him all the glory.

This year, God will give you rest in your business. When you work so hard and reap very little, it is because you have not entered into God’s rest. Peter toiled throughout the night and he caught no single fish. However, when he honored Jesus by giving Him his boat and waited for Jesus to finish preaching, he received a word from Jesus that landed him a great breakthrough. Jesus just told Peter to launch into the deep and he did it reluctantly. As he launched into the deep, he got a great catch. When you enter into God’s rest in your business, you will not labor so much before you experience God’s blessing. As we give thanks to God today, we will enter into God’s rest in Jesus’ name.

Prayer Points

  1. Father, I thank you because I have entered into your rest this year. I thank you Lord because this year, everything is working together for my good.

Genesis 2:2-3 (NKJV)

And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.

2. Father, I thank you for a year of entering into your rest. Thank you Jesus for this wonderful promise of entering into your rest. Lord, I thank you because your word will profit me this year and your Word will mix with faith in me

Hebrews 4:1-2 (NKJV)

Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. 2 For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.

3. Father, I thank you because as I believe in your Word, I enter into my rest throughout  this year in Jesus’ name. Lord, I thank you for your grace upon my life this year.

Hebrews 4:3 (NKJV)

For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: “So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest,’ ” although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

4. Father, I thank you for giving me rest from all forms of labor and heavy laden. I thank you Jesus because as I take your yoke upon me and as I learn from you, I will find rest for my soul. Lord, I thank you because your yoke is easy and your burden is light.

Matthew 11:28-30 (NKJV)

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

5. Father, I thank you for the grace you have given me to walk in the old paths where the good way is. Lord, I thank you because as I walk in the old paths this year, I will find rest for my soul

Jeremiah 6:16 (NKJV)

Thus says the Lord: “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.

6. Father, I thank you for giving me the grace to be diligent to enter into your rest. Lord, I thank you for giving me the grace to live in obedience to your Word. Thank you Jesus because I am entering God’s rest this year in Jesus’ name

Hebrews 4:9-11 (NKJV)

There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. 10 For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. 11 Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.

The Presence of God Guarantees Rest

7. Father, I thank you because your presence will go with me this year and you will give me rest. I thank you for the grace to enter into your rest this year.

Exodus 33:14 (NKJV)

And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

8. Father, I thank you for giving me the grace to lie down in peace and sleep well throughout this year. Lord, I thank you for giving me the grace to dwell in safety. Thank you Jesus because I am entering God’s rest this year in Jesus’ name

Psalm 4:8 (NKJV)

I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

9. Father, I thank you because as I am still this year, I will know that you are God. I thank you Lord because through me, your name will be exalted among the nations and all over the earth. Father, I thank you for giving me the grace to enter into your rest

Psalm 46:10 (NKJV)

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

10. Father, I thank you because as I listen to you this year, I will dwell in safety. Lord, I thank you for giving me the grace to be secure without fear of evil. Thank you Jesus because I am entering God’s rest this year in Jesus’ name

Proverbs 1:33 (NKJV)

But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, and will be secure, without fear of evil.”

11. Father, I thank you for giving me your peace which surpasses all understanding. Lord, I thank you because your peace will guard my heart and minds through Christ Jesus. Lord, I thank you because I have entered into your rest

Philippians 4:7 (NKJV)

“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus
