The Power To Begin 3.0 | 14 Reasons Why Many Don’t Begin
What are the 14 Reasons Why Many Don’t Begin?
- Fear/Lack of Courage: Many like Moses lack the courage to begin their assignment. 1 Chronicle 28:20; Deuteronomy 31:7; Matthew 10:28
- Many are Incapacitated: Many dreamers are incapacitated, and they are in prison today, like in the case of Joseph. Samson was also incapacitated after Delilah cut off his hairs, he wanted to fight the way he had been doing before, but there was no more power.
- Thinking that we lack the necessary credentials, Gideon and Moses taught that they lack the necessary credentials.
- Settling for less: Some have settled where they were not supposed to settle, like in the case of Abraham.
- Being entangled by the riches of this world: The rich man who went away sorrowful when Jesus told him to sell all that he had is a good example here.
- Having a fear of the giants in the land: The ten spies were afraid of the giant in the land, and their report affected all the Israelites from entering the land because they also believe in the ten spies.
- The pleasure of this world: Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt (Genesis 19:26).
- Fear of Believability: what people will say: Will people believe me or believe in me – Moses as a case study. Joseph shared his dreams, but his brothers did not believe him. Many in Jesus’ hometown also did not believe him.
- Fear of Acceptability: Moses was afraid and thinking that his people would not accept him. Also, Jesus was rejected by His people.
- Thinking that we don’t have the ability. None in Israel could confront Goliath except David.
- Analysis Paralysis: Thinking that we must get everything ready before we begin. Analysis paralysis means that we are trying to figure out everything on our own: Proverbs 3:5-6 (Message)
- Fear of Small beginning – Zechariah 4:10
- Fear of Opposition – Joseph had opposition, Jesus had opposition, Nehemiah had opposition, Moses had opposition, but they all accomplished their task despite all the opposition.
- Not willing to step out of your comfort zone – Abraham stepped out of his comfort zone, and Peter stepped out of his comfort zone. It would be best if you also stepped out of your comfort zone.
