Accessing Spiritual Blessings in Christ

Accessing Spiritual Blessings in Christ

Today, we will be considering the topic, accessing spiritual blessings in Christ. Many believers are aware that God blesses His children—but fewer understand what those blessings truly are and how to access them. Scripture reveals that in Christ, believers are not waiting to be blessed; they have already been richly endowed with spiritual blessings.

The key is not striving to earn them, but learning how to walk in the reality of what has already been given.

The Foundation: Blessed in Christ

The central truth of this topic is found in Ephesians 1:3 (NKJV):

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.”

This verse changes everything.

It tells us:

  • The blessing is already given (“has blessed us”)
  • It is complete (“every spiritual blessing”)
  • It is located in Christ
  • It originates from heavenly places

What Are Spiritual Blessings?

Spiritual blessings are not primarily material—they are eternal, inward, and God-centered realities that shape your life now and forever.

They include:

  • Salvation
  • Righteousness
  • Adoption into God’s family
  • Redemption and forgiveness
  • Peace with God
  • Access to God’s presence
  • The indwelling Holy Spirit
  • Eternal life

Key Spiritual Blessings in Christ

1. Chosen and Accepted

Ephesians 1:4–6 (NKJV)

“Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.

  • God chose you before the foundation of the world and made you accepted in Christ.

You are not rejected—you are chosen and loved.

2. Redemption and Forgiveness

Ephesians 1:7 (NKJV)

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

  • You are no longer bound by guilt—you are forgiven.

3. Adoption into God’s Family

Ephesians 1:5 (NKJV)

“Having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.”

  • You are not just saved—you are a child of God.

4. The Holy Spirit Within

Ephesians 1:13–14 (NKJV)

“In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.”

The Holy Spirit is:

  • A seal
  • A guarantee
  • A guide

5. Peace with God

Romans 5:1 (NKJV)

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ

6. Access to God’s Presence

Hebrews 4:16 (NKJV)

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

  • You are not distant—you have direct access to God.

Why Many Believers Don’t Experience These Blessings

Even though these blessings are available, many believers struggle to experience them because of:

  • Lack of knowledge
  • Wrong identity
  • Unbelief
  • Living by the flesh instead of the Spirit

Hosea 4:6 (NKJV)

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.

How to Access Spiritual Blessings

Accessing spiritual blessings is not about earning—it is about positioning and believing.

1. Be in Christ (Salvation)

All blessings are found in Christ—not outside Him.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

2. Renew Your Mind

You must think differently to live differently.

Romans 12:2 (NKJV)

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

  • Transformation comes through renewing the mind

3. Walk by Faith

Spiritual blessings are accessed by faith, not feelings.

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

  • Without faith it is impossible to please God

4. Walk in the Spirit

The Holy Spirit helps you experience what is already yours.

Galatians 5:16 (NKJV)

“I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”

  • Walk in the Spirit to overcome the flesh

5. Stay Rooted in the Word

The Word reveals your inheritance.

Key Insight

You don’t fight to get spiritual blessings—you fight to believe and walk in what is already yours.

From Position to Experience

There are two realities:

  • Position → What God has given you in Christ
  • Experience → What you actually walk in daily

Your goal is to align your experience with your position.

Living from Blessing, Not for Blessing

Many believers live like this:

“I hope God will bless me someday.”

But Scripture says:

You are already blessed in Christ.

  •  So you don’t work for blessing
  • You live from blessing

Practical Application

  • Declare what God has done in Christ
  • Reject thoughts that contradict your identity
  • Walk in obedience and faith
  • Depend on the Holy Spirit daily

Conclusion: Accessing Spiritual Blessings

Accessing spiritual blessings in Christ is not about striving—it is about understanding, believing, and living in your identity.

Everything you need:

  • Has already been provided
  • Is already yours in Christ
  • Is accessed through faith and alignment

Final Charge

Stop looking for what God has already given.

Start walking in it.

Because in Christ:

  • God blesses you abundantly
  • God fully accepts you
  • God powerfully empowers you
  • You are complete

Closing Prayer

“Lord, open my eyes to see all that You have given me in Christ. Help me to walk in the fullness of my spiritual blessings. Strengthen my faith, renew my mind, and teach me to live from the place of victory You have already secured. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
