Establishing God’s Kingdom on Earth

Establishing God’s Kingdom on Earth — God’s Battle Axe in Action

Today we will be praying about establishing God’s kingdom on earth. The scriptures says, “Thou art My battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms.” – Jeremiah 51:20 (KJV)

Introduction

Every move of God on earth happens through men and women who yield to His Spirit, speak His Word, and advance His purpose with passion.” God calls such people His battle axe. Through them, He pulls down strongholds, dethrones the powers of darkness, and establishes His Kingdom on earth.

To establish God’s Kingdom is not a passive duty; it is a divine warfare. The kingdoms of this world resist the rule of Christ, but through His Church — His battle axe — God enforces His will, one soul, one territory, and one generation at a time.

When we pray “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10), we are aligning ourselves with heaven’s agenda — to establish God’s dominion, righteousness, and peace on the earth through the power of His Spirit.

Understanding the Kingdom of God and the Battle Axe Mandate

The Kingdom of God is not just a place — it is the active rule and reign of God wherever His will is done. The battle axe represents God’s instrument of authority, judgment, and transformation.

In Jeremiah 51:20, God declares,

Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms

This means God uses His people to destroy the works of darkness and to establish His righteousness. God calls us to fight actively in His redemptive warfare, not to stand by as spectators.

The Mission: Establishing God’s Kingdom on Earth

The mission of every believer is clear — to bring heaven’s reality to earth.
Romans 14:17 says,

“For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.”

As God’s battle axe, we must establish this righteousness wherever sin abounds, spread peace where confusion reigns, and bring joy where sorrow has dominated.

We do this by:

  • Preaching the gospel of the Kingdom (Matthew 24:14).
  • Living as light and salt in a corrupt world (Matthew 5:13–14).
  • Confronting spiritual darkness through prayer, truth, and holy living (Ephesians 6:10–12).

Jesus — The Captain of the Lord’s Army

Jesus Christ is the embodiment of God’s Kingdom and the Commander of heaven’s army. He came not only to save souls but to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8).

Every miracle He performed — healing the sick, raising the dead, casting out demons — was a demonstration of God’s Kingdom overpowering the dominion of darkness.
He declared,

“But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.” — Matthew 12:28

When we follow Christ’s example, we too manifest the Kingdom. Every prayer we pray, every act of love, every soul we win, and every chain we break is another victory for God’s Kingdom on earth.

Believers: God’s Battle Axe for Kingdom Advancement

As believers, we are not ordinary. We are God’s weapons of righteousness (2 Corinthians 6:7). Through us, God enforces His will and expands His dominion. To function effectively as God’s battle axe, we must:

a. Be Spiritually Sharpened

A dull axe cannot cut. Ecclesiastes 10:10 says,

If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct.”

We must stay sharp through prayer, the Word, and holiness.

b. Yield Totally to God

An axe has no will of its own — it moves wherever the wielder directs it. So must we yield to the hand of the Master, saying as Jesus did, “Not my will, but Yours be done.”

c. Be Bold in Spiritual Warfare

The Kingdom of God advances by force (Matthew 11:12). God’s battle axes are not timid. They confront evil, injustice, and ungodliness with courage and truth.

d. Be Committed to Kingdom Influence

We must invade every sphere — family, business, education, politics, and media — with godly values. Our influence should reflect the righteousness and justice of our King.

Prayer: The Weapon of the Battle Axe

Prayer is how God’s battle axe strikes in the Spirit.
When we pray “Thy kingdom come,” we are declaring war on darkness and inviting divine intervention in earthly affairs.

In prayer, we:

  • Enforce God’s decrees.
  • Dislodge demonic resistance.
  • Release angelic reinforcements.
  • Birth revival and transformation.

Through prevailing prayer, heaven invades earth — and God’s Kingdom takes ground.

The Nature of the Kingdom We Are Establishing

Revelation 21:4–5 describes the fullness of this Kingdom — a realm of perfect peace, justice, and joy where God reigns forever.

But even now, as His battle axes, we must manifest glimpses of that eternal Kingdom by:

  • Showing compassion and mercy.
  • Living in holiness and humility.
  • Bringing healing, restoration, and hope to others.

The Kingdom we represent is not of this world (John 18:36), yet it transforms this world.

The Final Victory of the Kingdom

Though the battle may be fierce, victory is guaranteed.
Revelation 11:15 declares,

And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

One day, every throne and dominion will bow before Jesus Christ, the King of kings. Until then, we fight with faith, love, and obedience, knowing that our labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Conclusion: Arise, God’s Battle Axe!

To establish God’s Kingdom on earth, we must rise as His battle axe — sharp, surrendered, and steadfast. The world may be dark, but the light of God’s Kingdom shines through those who are willing to be used.

Let this be your declaration:

“Lord, make me Your battle axe — to break the chains of darkness, to bring Your light to nations, and to establish Your Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.”

The time is now. The battle is the Lord’s. But the weapon… is you.

Prayer Points: “Establishing God’s Kingdom on Earth”

  1. Father, make me Your battle axe and weapon of war in this generation — use me to pull down evil systems and advance Your Kingdom. Lord, empower me to break down the strongholds of sin, corruption, and idolatry through the authority of Jesus’ name.

Jeremiah 51:20–21 (NKJV)

“You are My battle-ax and weapons of war: For with you I will break the nation in pieces; With you I will destroy kingdoms; With you I will break in pieces the horse and its rider; With you I will break in pieces the chariot and its rider.”

 Daniel 2:44 (NKJV)

“And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.”

4. Lord, establish Your Kingdom upon the throne of David and uphold it with judgment and justice forever.Let the zeal of the Lord perform divine order and bring peace, justice, and truth across nations.

 Isaiah 9:7 (NKJV)

“Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.”

5. King of Glory, arise in Your strength! Enter through every gate and ancient door in my nation — take Your rightful place as Lord and King. Lord, release divine boldness and spiritual authority upon me to confront and overthrow every gate that resists the establishment of Your Kingdom.King of Glory, come in Your majesty and reign over the nations — let Your dominion be established forever.

Psalm 24:7–8 (NKJV)

“Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.”

Advancing God’s Kingdom on Earth

6. Lord, empower Your Church to take the Kingdom by force — to advance with holy violence against the powers of darkness.

 Matthew 11:12 (NKJV)

“And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.”

7. Father, thank You for the mighty weapons of warfare You have given — not carnal, but mighty through God to pull down strongholds. In the name of Jesus, I cast down every argument, ideology, and culture that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. Lord, help me take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ — let Your truth reign in my mind and in the hearts of men.

2 Corinthians 10:4–5 (NKJV)

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”

8. Father, clothe me with the full armor of God — the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, shield of faith, and sword of the Spirit — that I may stand in the evil day

 Ephesians 6:12–13 (NKJV)

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

9. Lord, give me the nations for my inheritance and the ends of the earth for my possession — let the gospel spread unhindered.
By the rod of Your strength, break in pieces every resistance to the advancement of the gospel.

Psalm 2:8–9 (NKJV)

“Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance,
And the ends of the earth for Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.”

10. Lord, I praise You because the kingdoms of this world shall become the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever. Lord, establish Your Kingdom in every heart, community, and nation—let righteousness and truth prevail over wickedness.

Revelation 11:15 (NKJV)

“Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, ‘The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!

Bringing God’s Kingdom to Earth

11. Lord, let there be a revival of Kingdom power and purity in the Church — awaken Your people to their purpose as Your battle axes. Father, cause the mountain of the Lord’s house to be exalted above every other mountain — let all nations flow into it. Lord, teach the nations Your ways and cause Your Word to go forth from Zion to bring transformation to the world.

 Isaiah 2:2–3 (NKJV)

“Now it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains, And shall be exalted above the hills; And all nations shall flow to it. Many people shall come and say, ‘Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths.’ For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.”

12. Father, establish Your Kingdom in me — let righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit overflow in my life.Lord, let every believer reflect the true nature of Your Kingdom — purity, holiness, love, and power.

 Romans 14:17 (NKJV)

“For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”

13. Lord Jesus, thank You for all authority in heaven and on earth. I receive power to go and make disciples of all nations

Matthew 28:18–19 (NKJV)

“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.’”

14. Father, fill the earth with the knowledge of Your glory as the waters cover the sea. Lord, let the knowledge of Your glory fill the nations — let every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Father, release the fire of revival that will bring the nations to repentance and submission to Your rule. I declare that the Kingdom of God is advancing — and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it!

Habakkuk 2:14, (NKJV)

“For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.”

15. Father, through Your Son Jesus, destroy every work of the devil operating in my life, family, and nation.Let Your light drive out darkness, and let Your truth dismantle every falsehood and deception in the land.

 1 John 3:8 (NKJV)

“He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”
