Exalting the Name of Jesus Above Every Name
Exalting the Name of Jesus Above Every Name
Today, we will be exalting the name of Jesus. In a world filled with influential leaders, global brands, and powerful institutions, one Name continues to stand unmatched in authority, glory, and eternal significance — the Name of Jesus. For believers, exalting the Name of Jesus above every name is not merely a religious expression; it is a declaration of faith, reverence, and total surrender to His Lordship.
This article explains what it truly means to exalt the Name of Jesus and reveals why His Name stands supreme above all.
The Biblical Foundation for Exalting the Name of Jesus
Scripture reveals the foundation of this truth.. In the book of Philippians, the apostle Paul declares:
“Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow…” (Philippians 2:9–11)
Jesus did not exalt Himself; God Himself established His exaltation. Because He walked in humility, obeyed fully, and gave His life on the cross, God lifted Him to the highest place of honor.
To exalt the Name of Jesus means to:
- Honor Him above all authorities
- Recognize His sovereignty
- Submit to His Lordship
- Publicly declare His greatness
Why the Name of Jesus Is Above Every Name
1. His Name Carries Divine Authority
Throughout the New Testament, miracles, healings, and deliverances occurred in the Name of Jesus. The apostles did not rely on their own strength; they invoked His Name because it carried heaven’s authority.
When believers pray in Jesus’ Name, they are not using a religious formula. They are standing in alignment with the authority of the risen Christ.
2. His Name Brings Salvation
Scripture clearly states:
“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
We do not find salvation in a philosophy, an institution, or a ritual; we find salvation in a Person—Jesus Christ. His Name represents redemption, forgiveness, restoration, and eternal life.
3. His Name Commands Every Realm
The Bible teaches that every knee will bow — in heaven, on earth, and under the earth. This reveals that no power, whether spiritual or earthly, is beyond His authority. Kings, rulers, systems, and spiritual forces all ultimately submit to Him.
Exalting the Name of Jesus is declaring that:
- He is greater than sickness
- He is greater than fear
- He is greater than sin
- He is greater than any challenge we face
Practical Ways to Exalt the Name of Jesus
Exalting Jesus is not limited to Sunday worship. It is a daily lifestyle.
1. Through Worship
Singing, praising, and lifting His Name publicly and privately honors Him. Worship shifts focus from ourselves to His greatness.
2. Through Obedience
True exaltation is demonstrated by obedience. When we align our lives with His Word, we elevate His authority above our own desires.
3. Through Bold Declaration
Speaking about Jesus openly — in conversations, online platforms, and ministry — magnifies His Name before others.
4. Through Christlike Living
Living in love, integrity, humility, and compassion reflects His character and brings honor to His Name.
The Power in the Name of Jesus Today
The Name of Jesus does not remain confined to history; it moves with power and authority today. Countless testimonies across generations affirm that when we call on His Name in faith:
- He breaks chains
- He heals hearts
- He transforms lives
Exalting His Name invites His presence into our situations. It reminds us that we serve a risen Savior who reigns eternally.
A Call to Exalt His Name
In every season—whether in victory or adversity—believers exalt the Name of Jesus above every name: above culture, above fear, above circumstances, and above personal ambition.
When we lift His Name high, faith rises, hope is restored, and lives change.
May our words, actions, ministries, and platforms continually proclaim one unshakable truth:
Jesus Christ is Lord — and His Name is above every name.
Prayer Points: Exalting the Name of Jesus Above Every Name
- Father, I exalt the Name of Jesus above every name in my life. Let every knee bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord in my home, ministry, and nation. May my life bring glory to You as I declare Jesus as Lord.
Philippians 2:9–11 (NIV)
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
2. Lord, thank You that salvation is found only in the Name of Jesus. Use me as an instrument to proclaim His saving Name to others. Let many call upon the Name of the Lord and be saved through my witness.

Ephesians 1:20–21 (NIV)

4. Thank You, Jesus, for purifying me from sin and sitting at the right hand of Majesty. I honor the superior Name You have inherited. Let my heart always remain grateful for Your finished work.
Hebrews 1:3–4 (NIV)
The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. 4 So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.
5. Lord, help me to do everything in word and deed in the Name of Jesus. Teach me to represent Christ faithfully in all I do. Let gratitude overflow from my heart as I serve in His Name.
Colossians 3:17 (NIV)

Psalm 113:2–3 (NIV)
Let the name of the Lord be praised, both now and forevermore. 3 From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised.
9. Father, I declare that Your Name is majestic in all the earth; be exalted in my life today. Lord, let Your glory be revealed in my home, my ministry, and my nation. May everything I do reflect the greatness and majesty of Your Name. Let the knowledge of Your glory fill the earth through my witness. I silence every voice that challenges Your Lordship and declare that You reign supreme. Be glorified in the heavens and be glorified in my daily walk.
Psalm 8:1 (NIV)
Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens.
10. In the Name of Jesus, I speak healing and restoration into every weak area of my life. Lord, let there be power and authority when I call upon Your Name. Use me as a vessel through whom Your power flows to bless others. I declare that lack will not define me; I carry the riches of Christ within me. Let miracles, signs, and breakthroughs follow the proclamation of Jesus’ Name. Strengthen my faith to speak boldly and expect results when I pray.
Acts 3:6 (NIV)
Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”

12. Lord Jesus, teach me to continually offer a sacrifice of praise, regardless of circumstances. Let my lips boldly profess Your Name without fear or shame. Father, remove every spirit of heaviness and replace it with garments of praise. May praise become my lifestyle, not just a moment in church. Help me to glorify You in both joyful seasons and challenging times. Let my praise draw others closer to You and magnify Your Name publicly.
Hebrews 13:15 (NIV)
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.
13. King of kings and Lord of lords, reign supreme in my life. I crown You as Lord over my decisions, plans, and future. Let Your Kingdom be established in every area concerning me.
