Pray For Grace to Overcome Obstacles

Grace to Overcome Obstacles

Today we will pray for grace to overcome obstacles. Life is full of challenges, setbacks, and obstacles that can make us feel stuck, discouraged, or even defeated. However, as believers, we are not left to struggle on our own. God’s grace is available to empower us, strengthen us, and help us overcome every obstacle in our path.

What is Grace?

Grace is the unmerited favour of God. It is His divine help and supernatural ability that enables us to accomplish what we cannot do by our own strength. In 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV), God told Paul, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” This means that when we feel weak or incapable, God’s grace steps in to give us the strength to overcome.

Biblical Examples of Grace in Overcoming Obstacles

1. Moses – Grace to Lead Despite Weakness (Exodus 4:10-12)

Moses doubted his ability to lead because he had a speech impediment. He told God, “I am slow of speech and tongue.” However, God assured him that He would be with his mouth and teach him what to say. By God’s grace, Moses became one of the greatest leaders in biblical history, delivering Israel from Egypt.

2. David – Grace to Defeat Goliath (1 Samuel 17:45-50)

David, a young shepherd, faced a giant warrior, Goliath. By human standards, he was no match for Goliath. But through the grace of God, David declared, “I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty” (1 Samuel 17:45). With just a sling and a stone, David overcame what seemed like an impossible battle.

3. Paul – Grace to Overcome Persecution (2 Corinthians 11:23-27)

Paul faced numerous obstacles—beatings, imprisonment, shipwrecks, and opposition—but he remained steadfast. He testified in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” The grace of God enabled him to persevere and fulfill his mission despite all challenges.

How to Access God’s Grace for Overcoming Obstacles

1. Trust in God’s Strength, Not Your Own (Proverbs 3:5-6)

We often try to rely on our own abilities, but true victory comes when we trust in God’s wisdom and strength. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

2. Pray for Grace (Hebrews 4:16)

When we face difficulties, we must come boldly to God in prayer. Hebrews 4:16 encourages us to “approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

3. Walk in Faith (2 Corinthians 5:7)

Obstacles can cause fear and doubt, but faith keeps us moving forward. 2 Corinthians 5:7 reminds us, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” When we believe that God’s grace is sufficient, we can overcome any challenge.

4. Speak God’s Promises (Isaiah 41:10)

Declaring God’s Word over your life strengthens your faith. Isaiah 41:10 says, “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Conclusion

Obstacles are a part of life, but God’s grace gives us the power to overcome them. Whether you are facing personal struggles, opposition, or challenges in your faith journey, remember that His grace is sufficient. Stay connected to God through prayer, trust in His strength, and walk in faith. With His grace, you will overcome!
