Praying For God’s Favour
Day 3: 40 DAYS PRAYER, FASTING AND WORSHIP FEB 3rd to MARCH 14th, 2021. 2021, A YEAR OF NEW BEGINNING - ISAIAH 43:17-19
Praying For God’s Favour
God’s favour is very important. When the Lord decides to favour a man, He will make foreigners to rebuild his walls. He will also cause the kings to serve him (Isaiah 60:10). This bible verse summarized Nehemiah’s experience when he wanted to rebuild the broken walls. He had favour with king Artaxerxes and the king made a provision so that Nehemiah can rebuild the temple (Nehemiah 2:1-9). We should however take note that before Nehemiah could find favor with the king, he had already sought the face of the King of kings. He had settled the matter through fasting and prayer with the God who controls the heart of kings (Nehemiah 1).
Esther also found favour with king Xerxex and she was preferred above all other women (Esther 2:17). Although the king had many women he could have chosen from, however Esther who was of Jewish origin, a lineage that has a special covenant with God, was the preferred damsel in the citadel. You can also experience the Lord’s favor and God can cause the kings to favour you. Let us pray that we will experience an unprecedented favour of God and that God will cause men to favour us.

Prayer Points:
- God, I pray that foreigners will rebuild my walls and their kings will serve me in Jesus’ name. If you have struck me in your anger, please show me favour and have compassion on me
Isaiah 60:10
“Foreigners will rebuild my walls, and their kings will serve me. Though in anger I struck you, in favor I will show you compassion”
2. Father, just like your favour singled out Noah and he was not destroyed when you destroyed the world with the flood, let your favour single me out in Jesus’ name
Genesis 6:6-8
6 The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. 7 So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.” 8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord
3. Father, I pray that you will extend your kindness to me and give me favour before men in Jesus’ name
Genesis 39:21
“But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.”
4. Father, I pray that you will favour me in Jesus’ name. Lord, let me grow in favour with you and men as I grow in stature. Jesus also grew in stature, in wisdom and in favour with God and men. Father I pray that I will also grow in favour with God and men in Jesus’ name
1 Samuel 2:26
“And the boy Samuel continued to grow in stature and in favor with the Lord and with people.”
Luke 2:52
And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man
5. Talk to God and pray that you will constantly do good. Pray that He will remove every form of wickedness from you, so that you can continually obtain favour in His sight in Jesus’ name
Proverbs 12:2
“Good people obtain favor from the LORD, but he condemns those who devise wicked schemes”
Pray that God Will Remember You By His Favour
6. Pray for men who are trusting God for a wife that they will find good wives and obtain favour before God in Jesus’ name. Also pray for women who are trusting God for the right husband that through God’s favour, there husband will find them in Jesus’ name.
Proverbs 18:22
“He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord.”
7. Pray and say “Father, in your favour, turn every impossibility to possibility just like you did for Mary. What looks impossible became possible for her and she got pregnant by the power of the Holy Spirit just because you favoured her. God, favour me also in Jesus’ name and turn every impossibility into possibility.
Luke 1:30-36
“30 But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”
34 “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” 35 The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. “
8. Pray that your horn will be exalted by God’s favour in Jesus’ name
Psalm 89:17
“For you are their glory and strength, and by your favor you exalt our horn”
9. Pray that God will bestow favour and honour unto you in Jesus’ name. Pray that as you walk uprightly, no good thing will be withheld from you in Jesus’ name
Psalm 84:11
“For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.”
Tips About Favour
- Favour has the capacity to grow – 1 Samuel 2:26; Luke 2:52
- With favour, impossibility can become possible – Luke 1:30-36
- It takes favour to find a good wife – Proverbs 18:22
- Favour can make the kings to serve you – Isaiah 60:10
- Favour can make you escape the judgement of God – Genesis 6:6-8
- There is no lack anywhere. If you have lack in some areas, it could be due to the fact that you are are not walking uprightly, so you lack the favour of God in that area – Psalm 84:11
- Favour causes men to be saved – 2 Corinthians 6:2
