Pray that you will experience the peace of God

Entering Into God's Rest

Today, we will pray that we will experience the peace of God. One of the names of Jesus is the Prince of Peace. As you enter into God’s rest this year, you will experience His peace.  God will give you peace that surpasses all understanding. Peace is a state or period in which there is no war or a war has ended. Jesus came to this world to reconcile man to God. He came to bring peace between man and God. God was displeased with man because we sinned against Him. However, Jesus came to the world to die for our sins so that we can have peace with God.

We can define peace as freedom from disturbance. The scriptures say that the chastisement of our peace was upon Jesus. Therefore, because Jesus was chastised we also have peace in this world. Jesus said that in this world we may have trouble, but He said that we should not be afraid because He has overcome the world.

Peace is  a stress-free state of security and calmness that comes when there’s no fighting or war, everything coexisting in perfect harmony and freedom. God gave Jehoshaphat a permanent peace after He destroyed those three nations. He did not experience any other war again. Prior to Jesus’ ascension to heaven, He said, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27 – NKJV). There is no peace in the world because the bible says that there is no peace for the wicked. However, as believers, we have peace in Jesus Christ.

The Peace of God Surpasses Human Understanding

Whatever may come your way, always remember that you have peace through Jesus Christ. Even if you face the Red Sea, you will definitely hear God’s voice saying “Be still and know that I am God.” If you find yourself in the valley of the shadow of death or inside the fire, you will hear God’s voice saying, “I am with you and I will never leave you nor forsake you.” God’s voice is always there to calm the storm while you are in the midst of the storm. Jesus is saying, “Look unto me because I am the Author and the Finisher of your faith.” If Jesus slept in the midst of the storm, it shows that you can sleep also in the midst of the storm. You will experience the peace of God no matter what you are passing through if you just believe in Him.

God promised that He will make war cease to the end of the earth. As we pray today, I pray that we will experience the peace of God in Jesus’ name. I pray that we will have peace in this world and we will have peace with men in Jesus’ name.
