Praying That God Will Use You To Start a Great Revival
Praying That God Will Use You To Start a Great Revival
Today, we will be praying that God will start a great revival through us. What is revival? Revival is an increase in spiritual interest or renewal in the life of a Church congregation or society with a local, national or global effect. According to Murray, revival means “ making alive again those who have been alive but have fallen into what is called a cold, or dead state.” Revival is an improvement in the condition or strength of something.
The moment you experience a great revival, your prayer life will change. Psalm 80:18 says, “Then we will not turn away from you; revive us, and we will call on your name.” Revival has the capacity to affect your prayer life. If you have been praying a tiny, hurried and stingy prayer in the past, the moment you are revived, your prayer life will witness a new dimension. Any attack from the devil that does not affect your prayer life is not a real attack. Because through prayers, you will overcome that attack and change any ugly situation. However, when your prayer life has been attacked, you will become a prey to the devil. I pray that the Lord will revive you and your prayer life will change for good in Jesus’ name.
Prayer Precedes A Great Revival
When Herod imprisoned Peter, what delivered him was the prayer of the Church. The reason why Herod probably killed James while he was in the prison could be because he did not pray and the Church did not intercede for him too. Also, if the Israelites had not prayed while in the land of Egypt, they would have prolonged their stay in that land of bondage. When Jonah preached to Nineveh, there was a great revival in the nation. Immediately, they fasted and prayed and the whole nation experienced a turn around. God changed His mind and He did not destroy Nineveh as He intended. Whenever you experience a great revival, it will be evident in your prayer life. I pray that the Lord will increase the intensity of your prayer and you will witness a great revival in Jesus’ name.
Moreover, great revival always comes as a result of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Joel 2:28-29 says, “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.” The revival that started on the day of Pentecost was as a result of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The timid Apostle Peter who denied Jesus Christ three times spoke boldly on the day of Pentecost. Even when the Apostles were arrested and jailed for preaching the gospel, they were rejoicing in their persecution.
After experiencing a great revival, you will be able to confront your challenges and challenge your challengers with an unusual boldness. As you pray today, I pray that you will witness a great revival in Jesus’ name.
