Praying For Unusual Speed
Today, we will be praying for unusual speed. Speed is defined as the rate of change of position of an object in any direction. Speed is measured as the ratio of distance to the time in which the distance was covered. When the speed is enhanced by the supernatural enablement, it is called a divine speed. A divine speed is a supernatural enablement and empowerment or uncommon grace to overrun others in the accomplishment of a specific task within a short period of time.
Joseph Experienced An Unusual Speed In His Career
There are some who experienced an unusual speed in the scriptures. Joseph experienced an unusual speed in his career when he was promoted to the second highest position in the land. If he were to be promoted through the rank and file of king Pharaoh’s organization, it would have taken him years to attain that position. However, God granted him an unusual speed and he was promoted into that position in a day. In one day, he got all the benefits and allowances which he has not got for years. In one day, he became the boss of all his bosses. That is a perfect example of an unusual speed.
Apostle Paul Experienced An Unusual Speed In Ministry
Apostle Paul experienced an unusual speed in his ministry. He acknowledged that he was the least among the Apostles, yet he did greater exploits than all the apostles. In his resume, he described himself as the chief sinner, yet he found favor and had an unusual speed in ministry. Paul said in 1 Timothy 1:15, ”This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief” Despite the fact that he had some initial shortcomings in the way he persecuted the Church before his encounter with Jesus, God later used him mightily.
In 1 Corinthians 15:10 (NLT), Apostle Paul said, “But whatever I am now, it is all because God poured out his special favor on me—and not without results. For I have worked harder than any of the other apostles; yet it was not I but God who was working through me by his grace.” Paul acknowledged here that God poured out his special favor on him. No wonder he had greater results than other Apostles. By that special grace, he worked harder than other Apostles. It means that you also have a part to play for you to have this unusual speed. You need to work hard but God will grant you great success by blessing your work in an unusual way.
Elijah Experienced An Unusual Speed
There was a time the power of God came upon Elijah and he outran a chariot. 1 Kings 18:46 says, “The power of the LORD came on Elijah and, tucking his cloak into his belt, he ran ahead of Ahab all the way to Jezreel.” Ahab at this point was already ahead of Elijah. He was riding a chariot. However, when the power of the Lord came upon Elijah, he outran the chariot of Ahab. That is a perfect description of an unusual speed.
By the Spirit of God you can get ahead of those who are currently ahead of you. You cannot compare the speed of a car to the speed of an airplane. Therefore, when you are flying, you have an advantage over those who are walking or running. As you mount up with wings like eagle and soar, you will achieve what is taking others a long time to achieve in a short time in Jesus’ name. The Lord will grant you an unusual speed.
Philipp Experienced An Unusual Speed
Philip was another man who experienced an unusual speed. There was a time he was led to preach to an Ethiopian Eunuch. After Paul had preached to the Eunuch and baptized him, The Spirit of God transported him to Azotus where he continued to evangelize. He did not have to travel by road or by a chariot. He was granted an unusual speed (Acts 8:39-40). As you also mount up with wings like an eagle, you will be transported by the Spirit of God in Jesus’ name. The Holy Spirit is like a wind. The eagle normally takes advantage of the storm to glide and to travel far and fast without flapping its wings. Also, when the Holy Spirit transports you, you will have an unusual speed in all your business undertakings and in your ministry in Jesus’ name.
As we pray today, I pray that God will grant you an unusual speed in Jesus’ name.
Prayer Points
- Father, I thank you for giving me a special advantage and unusual speed to run my race. Thank you Lord for giving me an unusual strength to run my race in spite of my weakness.
Ecclesiastes 9:11
I again saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift and the battle is not to the warriors, and neither is bread to the wise nor wealth to the discerning nor favor to men of ability; for time and chance overtake them all.
2. Father, I pray that you will grant me unusual speed for my race in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that it does not really matter how far others have gone, you will grant me unusual speed in Jesus’ name

James 1:19
This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger
6. Father, I pray that from now on, my lifting is going to happen so fast in Jesus’ name. I pray that everywhere I look there will be all round blessings in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that I will build ruined cities and I will plant vineyards and drink new wine. I will walk in my gardens and eat fresh vegetables in Jesus’ name.
Amos 9:13-15 (MSG)
Yes indeed, it won’t be long now.” God’s Decree. “Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. You won’t be able to keep up. Everything will be happening at once—and everywhere you look, blessings! Blessings like wine pouring off the mountains and hills. I’ll make everything right again for my people Israel:
“They’ll rebuild their ruined cities, they’ll plant vineyards and drink good wine. They’ll work their gardens and eat fresh vegetables. And I’ll plant them, plant them on their own land. They’ll never again be uprooted from the land I’ve given them.” God, your God, says so.
7. Father, I pray that you will finish the work that you have started through me in a very short time in Jesus’ name.

For He will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness, because the Lord will make a quick work upon the earth.”

“The time will come,” says the Lord, “when the grain and grapes will grow faster than they can be harvested. Then the terraced vineyards on the hills of Israel will drip with sweet wine!
9. Father, I pray that just like Elijah, I will outran horses and chariots in Jesus’ name. Lord, grant me an unusual speed in Jesus’ name
1 Kings 18:44-46
The seventh time the servant reported, “A cloud as small as a man’s hand is rising from the sea.” So Elijah said, “Go and tell Ahab, ‘Hitch up your chariot and go down before the rain stops you.’”
45 Meanwhile, the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, a heavy rain started falling and Ahab rode off to Jezreel. 46 The power of the Lord came on Elijah and, tucking his cloak into his belt, he ran ahead of Ahab all the way to Jezreel.
10. Father, grant me unusual speed in my spiritual race in Jesus’ name. I pray that I will not be tired as I run my race in Jesus’ name
