Deliverance From Secret Sins
Deliverance From Secret Sins
Deliverance From Secret Sins is a vital subject for every believer who desires spiritual growth, intimacy with God, and lasting progress in life. God has the power and the willingness to deliver His people from sins that are hidden from human eyes but fully visible before Him. Secret sins often operate quietly, yet they hinder prayer, block spiritual progress, weaken conscience, and limit the manifestation of God’s power in a believer’s life. This is why we must earnestly seek God for deliverance from secret sins, so they do not sabotage our destiny.
The Danger of Secret Sins
Secret sins are sins committed in private—actions, thoughts, habits, or attitudes that people may not see but God clearly sees. The psalmist prayed, “Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults” (Psalm 19:12, NKJV). Secret sins do not remain secret before God, because “all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account” (Hebrews 4:13, NKJV).
These hidden sins hinder spiritual progress and can prevent the open manifestation of God’s power in our lives. Just as secret prayers are answered openly (Matthew 6:6), secret sins can also be rewarded openly if they are not repented of.
God Sees and Judges Secret Sins
Throughout Scripture, we see that God sees secret sins and deals with them openly:
- Cain secretly harbored anger and murdered Abel, and God confronted him and pronounced judgment (Genesis 4:8–12).
- Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit in secret, yet God saw and judged the act (Genesis 3:6–19).
- David committed adultery with Bathsheba in secret, but God exposed it and disciplined him (2 Samuel 11–12).
- King Saul secretly disobeyed God by sparing the Amalekites and their king, and he lost the kingdom as a result (1 Samuel 15:9–23).
- Ananias and Sapphira secretly withheld part of their offering while pretending full obedience, and God judged them instantly (Acts 5:1–10).
- Judas Iscariot secretly stole from the treasury and later betrayed Jesus for thirty pieces of silver, leading to tragic destruction (John 12:6; Matthew 27:3–5).
- Achan secretly took forbidden items, bringing defeat upon Israel until the sin was exposed (Joshua 7:1–26).
- Gehazi secretly collected gifts he was forbidden to take, and he was struck with leprosy (2 Kings 5:20–27).
These examples teach us a sobering truth: God sees secret sins, and if they are not addressed, they can attract open judgment.
The Hope of Deliverance From Secret Sins
The good news is that God still offers deliverance from secret sins. He does not expose us to destroy us, but to restore us. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9, NKJV).
Confession breaks the power of hidden sin. Proverbs 28:13 declares, “He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.” When we sincerely confess and forsake secret sins, God releases mercy, forgiveness, and cleansing.
Secret Sins and Eternal Consequences
Secret sins are dangerous because, if left unchecked, they can lead to spiritual death and eternal separation from God. Scripture warns, “For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light” (Luke 8:17, NKJV). What is hidden today may be exposed tomorrow—either in this life or before God’s final judgment (Ecclesiastes 12:14).
That is why we must urgently seek Deliverance From Secret Sins before they grow into great transgressions.
Prayer for Deliverance and Dominion Over Sin
The psalmist cried out, “Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, and I shall be innocent of great transgression” (Psalm 19:13, NKJV). This should be the prayer of every believer.
Through the power of the Holy Spirit, believers can walk in freedom. Romans 8:1–2 assures us that there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus and that the law of the Spirit of life has made us free from the law of sin and death.
Conclusion and Prayer
Deliverance From Secret Sins is not only possible—it is promised to those who humble themselves before God. God desires truth in the inward parts (Psalm 51:6) and is ready to create a clean heart within us when we come to Him sincerely.
May the Lord grant us the grace to examine our hearts, confess hidden faults, and walk in holiness. May He deliver us from all forms of secret sins and empower us to live upright lives that glorify His name.
Prayer:
Father, we ask for Your mercy and grace. Deliver us from every secret sin that seeks to have dominion over us. Cleanse our hearts, renew our spirits, and help us walk in the light of Your truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
PRAYER POINTS: DELIVERANCE FROM SECRET SINS
- Father, open my eyes to errors and secret faults I cannot discern on my own. Cleanse me thoroughly from hidden sins that defile my soul. Grant me humility to acknowledge my weaknesses before You.
Psalm 19:12 (NKJV)
“Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults.”
2. Lord, I acknowledge that nothing is hidden before You. Bring every secret sin in my life into the light of Your presence. Let Your holiness purge me of everything that displeases You.
Psalm 90:8 (NKJV)
“You have set our iniquities before You, our secret sins in the light of Your countenance.”
3. Father, I confess every sin I have covered or hidden. Give me grace not only to confess but to forsake every secret sin. Let Your mercy triumph over judgment in my life.
Proverbs 28:13 (NKJV)
“He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.”
4. Lord Jesus, I walk in Your light and not in darkness. Let Your blood cleanse me from all sin—secret and open. I receive Your forgiveness and total cleansing from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:7–9 (NKJV)
“ But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
5. Father, I submit my life to Your all-seeing eyes. Remove every false sense of secrecy or hiddenness from my heart. Help me live daily with the consciousness that I am accountable to You.
Hebrews 4:13 (NKJV)
“There is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.”
Freedom From Hidden Sins
6.Lord, I refuse to remain silent about my sins. I acknowledge and confess my transgressions before You. Restore my strength, joy, and vitality through forgiveness.
Psalm 32:3–5 (NKJV)
“When I kept silent, my bones grew old through my groaning all the day long. 4 For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; My vitality was turned into the drought of summer. Selah 5 I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah.”
7.Father, help me live with eternal accountability in view. Deliver me from secret sins that will bring judgment if unrepented. Let my life please You both publicly and privately.
Ecclesiastes 12:14 (NKJV)
“For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.”
8.Lord, I surrender every hidden thing in my life to You now. Cleanse me before exposure brings shame or destruction. Let Your mercy address my secrets before revelation comes.
Luke 8:17 (NKJV)
“For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light.”
9.Lord, deliver me from the deceitfulness of my own heart. Search my heart and test my motives. Align my inner life with Your truth and righteousness.
Jeremiah 17:9–10 (NKJV)
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; Who can know it? 10 I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.”
10.Father, I renounce the spirit of hiding sin like Adam. Remove fear, pride, and shame that keep me from repentance. Give me courage to walk in truth and transparency.
Job 31:33 (NKJV)
“If I have covered my transgressions as Adam, by hiding my iniquity in my bosom”
Healing From Hidden Iniquities
11.Lord, create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me. Purge me deeply, not outwardly alone but inwardly. Restore to me the joy of salvation and spiritual sensitivity.
Psalm 51:6–10 (NKJV)
“Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom. 7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 8 Make me hear joy and gladness, that the bones You have broken may rejoice. 9 Hide Your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
12.Father, uproot every love for darkness in my heart. Draw me fully into the light of Christ. Let my deeds be done openly in obedience and truth.
John 3:19–21 (NKJV)
“And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”
13.Thank You, Lord, that I am free from condemnation in Christ Jesus. I receive liberty from the law of sin and death. Empower me by the Spirit to walk in lasting victory.
Romans 8:1–2 (NKJV)
“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who] do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.”
14.By Your grace, Lord, I put to death every sinful desire and habit. Help me put off the old man with his deeds. Renew me daily in the image of Christ in holiness and purity.
Colossians 3:5–10 (NKJV)
“Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, 7 in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them.
8 But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, 10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him.”
15.Lord, grant me grace for godly accountability. Heal my soul as I walk in confession and prayer. Let the power of fervent prayer break every secret bondage.
James 5:16 (NKJV)
“Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, ]fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”
Closing Declaration
Father, I thank You for Your light, mercy, and cleansing power. I receive total deliverance from secret sins. By the blood of Jesus and the work of the Holy Spirit, I walk in freedom, truth, and holiness. My private life will glorify You as much as my public life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
