Pray that you will enjoy emotional rest
Pray that you will enjoy emotional rest

Today, we will pray that we will enjoy emotional rest. The scripture says that we should not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition and with thanksgiving, we should present our requests to God (Philippians 4:7). There are some situations that affect our emotions. We need to deal with such situations. In as much as we want to deal with these situations, we realize that we are incapacitated. However, we serve a God who can give us emotional rest and I pray that He will give you an emotional rest in Jesus’ name.
Jesus said that you should not allow your heart to be troubled. Troubled heart is a sign of unbelief. So many things can affect our emotions. The couple at the wedding of Galilee must have had an unrest emotionally when the wine finished. However, Jesus gave them some instructions, and immediately they followed those instructions, they experienced rest. Jesus gave them a new wine by turning the water to wine. The Israelites must have been troubled emotionally when they saw the raging sea in front of them, and a sound of war behind them. Nevertheless, God proved Himself as a very present help in trouble. He parted the sea and drowned the Egyptians army in the Red Sea.
God Can Still Give You Emotional Rest
When Abraham had no child, he was unhappy. There was a time he was telling God that Eliezer, his servant, would likely be his heir. God however changed Abraham’s story by giving him a child. There was also a time that Hannah had emotional unrest due to childlessness. She cried unto God and He answered her. God blessed her with Samuel and many other children. Our God is still in the business of giving His children emotional rest. Whatever is affecting your emotions can be taken care of by God.
The scripture says that weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. When Lazarus was sick, his sisters were emotionally unstable. They sent for Jesus to come and heal their brother. However, Jesus delayed a little because He was attending to His Father’s business. In the process, Lazarus died. You can imagine how the emotions of the sisters would have been. Jesus got there after Lazarus had been dead for four days. Lazarus was already stinking. In fact, when Jesus got to the tomb of Lazarus, He wept also. In the long run, Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead and God gave all the sisters emotional rest. As we pray today, I pray that God will give you emotional rest in Jesus’ name.

Pray For An Emotional Rest
6. Father, I pray that I will enjoy emotional rest in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will deliver me from everything that is causing me to weep in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will turn my mourning into dancing again in Jesus’ name. Father, I pray that you will revive everything that is dead in my life and give me emotional rest
Luke 8:51-55 (NIV)
When he arrived at the house of Jairus, he did not let anyone go in with him except Peter, John and James, and the child’s father and mother. 52 Meanwhile, all the people were wailing and mourning for her. “Stop wailing,” Jesus said. “She is not dead but asleep.”
53 They laughed at him, knowing that she was dead. 54 But he took her by the hand and said, “My child, get up!” 55 Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat.
7. Father, I pray that I will enjoy emotional rest in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that just as you gave Hannah an emotional rest from her troubled heart due to her childlessness, you will also give me an emotional rest in Jesus’ name. Father, I pray that the same way you turned the mourning of Hannah into dancing, I will have a similar experience in Jesus’ name.
1 Samuel 1:5-8 (NIV)
But to Hannah he gave a double portion because he loved her, and the Lord had closed her womb. 6 Because the Lord had closed Hannah’s womb, her rival kept provoking her in order to irritate her. 7 This went on year after year. Whenever Hannah went up to the house of the Lord, her rival provoked her till she wept and would not eat. 8 Her husband Elkanah would say to her, “Hannah, why are you weeping? Why don’t you eat? Why are you downhearted? Don’t I mean more to you than ten sons?”
8. Father, I pray that I will enjoy emotional rest in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that just like you healed the woman who was subject to bleeding for twelve years, you will heal me also in Jesus’ name. I pray that you will deliver me from every sickness that has been causing emotional unrest for several years in Jesus’ name
Luke 8:43-44 (NIV)
And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. 44 She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped.
9. Father, I pray that I will enjoy emotional rest in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will give me a crown of beauty instead of ashes. Father, I pray that you will give me the oil of joy instead of mourning and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. Lord, I pray that I will be called oaks of righteousness and a planting of the Lord for the display of your splendor
Isaiah 61:3 (NIV)
And provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendour.
