Pray That God Will Mend Broken Marriages
Today, we will be praying that God will mend broken marriages. God has a great plan for marriages. He gave Adam a help that was suitable for him. God said that it is not good for a man to be alone. Prior to the fall of man, there was no death. Death came as a result of sin. This means that the marriage of Adam and Eve would have lasted forever. Death would not have separated them. Definitely, God does not want a broken marriage. He blessed marriages so that it can last forever. Broken marriages are a result of sin. Matthew 19:8 says, “He said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.” This statement of Jesus clarifies that God hates divorce. So, I pray that God will mend broken marriages in Jesus’ name.
Today, we have so many broken marriages. People divorce for various reasons. However, this is not God’s plan for marriages. Divorce is not peculiar to the world alone. This has crept into the church and it is quite alarming. Luke 16:18 says, “Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.” This is the Lord’s verdict concerning divorce. This means that many people are wilfully committing adultery today due to broken marriages, especially if they remarry. So, what is the solution? It is better for you not to be involved in a broken marriage. In anycase, if your marriage is broken already, God can still mend broken marriages. I pray that God will heal your marriage in Jesus’ name.
Pray Against The Devil’s Attack in Marriages
When the devil attacks marriages, his grand plan is to soil your relationship with God. He wants you to miss heaven. He wants only a single parent to raise those children. The devil wants to plant the seed of unforgiveness, bitterness, anger and malice in marriages. He knew that all these vices will hinder your prayers. Ultimately, the devil is actually after your soul. You must fight a good fight of faith on your knees for your marriage. Don’t allow the devil to succeed. If your marriage is at the verge of being broken, pray until God restores normalcy. The benefits of a peaceful and loving home far outweighs the adverse effects of broken marriages. As we pray today, I pray that God will mend broken marriages in Jesus’ name.
Prayer Points
- Father, I pray that you will mend broken marriages. Lord, we pray that you will heal wherever homes where there is division currently in Jesus’ name. I pray for those who have divorced that they will reconcile in Jesus’ name
Luke 16:18
“Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.
2. Father, I pray whatever differences that currently exist between marriages will be resolved in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will touch the hearts of those who are engaging in sexual immorality and they will repent and reconcile in Jesus’ name
Matthew 5:32
But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.
3. Father, I pray that the Holy Spirit will minister to those who are currently having challenges in their marriages and let there be a resolution in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will mend broken marriages in Jesus’ name
1 Corinthians 7:10-11
To the married I give this charge (not I, but the Lord): the wife should not separate from her husband (but if she does, she should remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband), and the husband should not divorce his wife.
4. Father, I pray that no forces will be able to break the union in our marriages in Jesus’ name. Lord, we pray that you will keep Christians’ marriages and let there be genuine love in Jesus’ name.
Matthew 19:6
So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.
5. Father, I pray that you will bring healing to homes where there is mistrust in Jesus’ name. Lord , I pray that husbands will be faithful to their wives and the will be complete loyalty in marriages in Jesus’ name
Matthew 19:9
And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.
6. Father, I pray that the love of God will be the way of life in Christian marriages in Jesus’ name. Lord, grant the husbands and wives the grace for self control in Jesus’ name. I pray that you will mend broken marriages in Jesus’ name
Malachi 2:16
“For the man who does not love his wife but divorces her, says the Lord, the God of Israel, covers his garment with violence, says the Lord of hosts. So guard yourselves in your spirit, and do not be faithless.”
7. Father, I pray that you will heal all those who have hardened their hearts and are at the verge of divorcing. Lord, touch their hearts and let them embrace your love in Jesus’ name
Matthew 19:8

8. Father, I pray that you will mend broken marriages in Jesus’ name. Lord, heal these homes and deliver them from sexual immorality in Jesus’ name
Matthew 5:31-32
“It was also said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.’ But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.
