Praying That God Will Fortify You Supernaturally

Praying That God Will Fortify You Supernaturally

Today, you should pray that God will fortify you supernaturally. To fortify means to provide defensive works as protection against attack. It means to make strong or to strengthen and secure. God has the capacity to fortify you against the enemies. When David wanted to face Goliath in battle, he needed some fortifications. When he told Saul about his plans to fight with Goliath, king Saul attempted to fortify him. He put his armour on David but David refused to go with Saul’s armour. David told king Saul that he had not tried such armour before. He however fought Goliath with his spiritual armor and he defeated Goliath.

The scripture says, “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds” (2 Corinthians 10:4). You can not fight spiritual battles with carnal weapons. So, for you to be well fortified as a Christian, you need to put on the whole armor of God. One of the armor that you need for your fortification is the Sword of the Spirit. The Sword of the Spirit is the Word of God and it is an offensive weapon. You can use this weapon to demolish strongholds. You can demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God. When God fortifies you supernaturally, you will be able to take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Put On The Full Armour of God

The book of Ephesians 6:10-17 highlights the armor that God will use to fortify us. Ephesians 6:10 says, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. We are not struggling against flesh and blood. Our fight is against the rulers and against the authorities. We are fighting against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Our spiritual armour includes the sword of the Spirit. We need the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith and the belt of truth buckled around your waist.

Moreover, we need the helmet of salvation. Our feet must be fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. I pray that God will fortify us spiritually as we cry unto Him today in Jesus’ name.

Prayer Points

Lord, I pray and take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ, and I pray that you will punish every act of disobedience once my obedience is complete.

I pray that you will give all servants of God the grace to preach the gospel fearlessly as they make known the mystery of the gospel

Ephesians 6:18-20

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

Special Bible Passage

1 Samuel 17:32-35

David said to Saul, “Let no one lose heart on account of this Philistine; your servant will go and fight him.” 33 Saul replied, “You are not able to go out against this Philistine and fight him; you are only a young man, and he has been a warrior from his youth.”34 But David said to Saul, “Your servant has been keeping his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, 35 I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it.

1 Samuel 17:36-40

Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God.37 The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.” Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you.”

38 Then Saul dressed David in his own tunic. He put a coat of armor on him and a bronze helmet on his head.39 David fastened on his sword over the tunic and tried walking around, because he was not used to them.

“I cannot go in these,” he said to Saul, “because I am not used to them.” So he took them off. 40 Then he took his staff in his hand, choose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his shepherd’s bag and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Philistine.
