Pray That God Will Remember You For Mercy
Pray That God Will Remember You For Mercy
Today, you should pray that God will remember you for mercy. What is mercy? Mercy means compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone whom it is within one’s power to punish or harm. One thing about the mercy of God is that it endures forever. So, we can tap into God’s mercies at any time. Psalm 23:6 says, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” David was so sure of God’s goodness and mercy. He was sure that he would have access to goodness and mercy all the days of his life. This is also available to us.
In that Psalm 23:6, David said that he will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. You have an unhindered access to goodness and mercy when you perpetually tarry in God’s presence. Therefore, if you want God to remember you for mercy, you must learn how to stay in God’s presence. You must be prayerful and constantly seek God’s face. God is abundant in mercy to all who call on Him. Even if you have trespassed against God, His mercy is available to save you. By God’s mercy, He can overlook your sins and have mercy on you.
Mercy Prevails Over Judgement
Moses was a murderer, but by God’s mercy, he became a great prophet. Paul was a persecutor. However, by God’s mercy he became a great preacher. David was a murderer and an adulterer, but by God’s mercy, he was still referred to as a man after God’s own heart. Rahab the harlot and all her household were saved by God’s mercy. She was one of the great matriarchs of Jesus. Solomon was one of the sons of Beersheba, the lady that king David snatched from Uriah. David married her after he killed Uriah. Yet, her son Solomon was preferred to ascend the throne after David’s demise.
All of us are saved today by God’s grace and mercy. We have gone astray and lived a sinful life but God’s mercy found us. Are there still any areas of your life where you are trusting God for His mercy? You should cry to God today and say, “God, remember me in your mercy.” As we pray today, I pray that God will remember us for mercy in Jesus’ name.
