Praying That God Will Renew Your Strength

Today, we will be praying that God will renew our strength. God promised us that our strength will be renewed when we wait upon the Lord. How does the eagle renew its strength? The eagle lives longer than  its usual lifespan through the process of waiting and renewal of strength.

According to the story of the eagle by Craig Fielke: The eagle has the longest lifespan of its species and can live up to 70 years. But to reach this age, the eagle must make a hard decision. In its 40th year, its long and flexible talons can no longer grab prey which serve as food. Its long and sharp beak becomes bent and its heavy wings stick to its chest and make it difficult to fly due to their thick feathers.

At this age, the eagle is left with only two options. It could either die or go through a painful process of change which lasts 150 days.  The process requires that the eagle fly to a mountain top and sit on its nest. There the eagle knocks its beak against a rock until it plucks it out. Then the eagle waits for a new beak to grow back. It will pull out its talons and when new talons grow back, the eagle starts plucking its old aged feathers. After five months, the eagle takes its famous flight of rebirth and lives for 30 more years.

God Promised To Renew Your Strength

When you wait upon the Lord, God will renew your strength. The process of waiting could be painful but the reward is mouth-watering. When Jesus waited upon God in fasting and prayers for forty days and forty nights, He was filled with the Holy Spirit. He went about doing good and he performed all manners of miracles. When the disciples waited upon God at the upper room, their strength was renewed. They were able to do extraordinary exploits afterwards. When Moses waited upon God for forty days, his countenance changed and his strength was renewed.  You can not genuinely wait upon God and your strength will not be renewed.

As we wait upon God during this period, I pray that our strength will be renewed in Jesus’ name.
