Express Your Gratitude For God’s Provision and Sufficiency
Express Your Gratitude For God’s Provision and Sufficiency
Today, we will express our gratitude for God’s provision and sufficiency. The Psalmist says, in Psalm 23:1-3, “The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.” One of the things that God will do is to make provision for you when you make Him your Shepherd. Whether you will experience lack or abundance depends on who your Shepherd is. God is the true Shepherd who will always make provision for all your needs.
There are many shepherds in the world, but the Lord Almighty is the good shepherd who makes provision for all your needs. If God has truly supplied all your needs, you have to express your gratitude for God’s provisions. God promised in His Word that He will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory. A sheep that lies down in a green pasture lacks no food. He will eat and eat until he is satisfied. Lying down in a green pasture is symbolic of satisfaction. It is synonymous to living in abundance. It also shows that the sheep have more than enough. God is taking you away from the realm of not enough to the realm of more than enough. So you have to express our gratitude for God’s provision and sufficiency
Acknowledging God’s Unfailing Provision
God’s provision transcends the level of sowing and reaping. Although, God said that seedtime and harvest should not cease. So, whenever you plant or sow your seed you will reap a harvest that is much more than the seeds sown. There is another level of provision where you can reap without sowing. How did manna come down from heaven? What did the Israelites sow to reap the harvest of manna? How did the coin get to the mouth of the fish? What did Peter sow for the fish to start bringing out money like an Automated Teller Machine? What technology makes five loaves of bread and two fish to multiply and feed five thousand people? Can you explain the source of the oil in the jar that filled several vessels without drying up? What technology makes water to turn to wine?
The kind of provision that God is giving you is a provision that the world can not explain. Tell me, how would that widow explain the source of the oil that filled several vessels? How can the woman who encountered Elijah explain how the pot of flour and the jar of oil refused to dry up? There are some heavenly blessings or provisions that you can command and you don’t have to wait for several years to experience your harvest.
Praising God for His Generous Provision
It is true that there is a law of sowing and reaping. However, there is another law which is called the law of grace and favor. When this law is upon your life, you can reap even when you have not sown. When you key in into God’s agenda, you can reap some benefits when you have not sown physically. Matthew 6:26 (NIV) says, “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? God said that the birds of the air neither sow nor reap or store away in barns, yet God provided for them. Jesus said that you are more valuable than them. Which means that if God could do that for birds that are less valuable, He would do much more for you.
The book of Psalm 23 says, God makes the sheep to lie down in green pasture. The sheep are not the ones who planted the green pasture, yet they were reaping where they had not sown simply because they had the Lord as their Shepherd. I pray that you will also enter into this realm in Jesus’ name. As we express our gratitude for God’s provision and sufficiency today, I pray that the Lord will open the windows of heaven and He will shower His blessings upon us more and more in Jesus’ name.
