Pray that God will remember you

Night of Divine Encounter (NODE) 3rd Edition, Day 7 - Pray that God will remember you - September 3rd, 2021. Theme: The Book of Remembrance

What does the word “ remember” mean?

Today, we are going to be praying that God will remember us. To remember means, to keep in memory; keep in mind or to remain aware of. God is not slack or forgetful when it comes to His promises. He does not suffer from memory lapses

God remembered Noah

God instructed Noah to build an ark as a place of safety because he was about to destroy the earth. Eventually, when God destroyed the earth, he spared the people inside the ark.   Noah and his family members alongside some animals entered the ark in response to the warning of God. They avoided the impending destruction of the earth by water.  Others perished because they refused to yield to God’s warning.

After 150 days,  the water receded. If God had not remembered Noah, they would probably have stayed in the ark forever. The water would not go down. Also, God would not have repopulated the earth. It is also likely that they would have eventually perished. I pray that God will remember you also in Jesus’ name

God remembered the Israelites while in Egypt

The children of Israel were in Egypt for 430 years. They served their task masters under rigour and heavy burden that was very unbearable. God had earlier told Abraham that his children will serve in a foreign land for 400 years. But their refusal to pray prolonged their stay for extra 30 years. When the Israelites cried unto God, he heard them and remembered His promises. It was after their cry that He spoke with Moses and sent him to Egypt to go and deliver the Israelites.

You can not be silent today. Cry unto God about that bondage. You need to cry unto God about that sickness. You have to cry unto God about that lack of promotion. Tell God to deliver from every form of stagnancy. I pray that as you cry unto God, He will remember you in Jesus’ name.

The cupbearer remembered Joseph

Joseph interpreted their dreams  while the cupbearer  and the chief baker were in the prison. The interpretation of the dream came to pass and the king restored the cupbearer’s position, but he killed the chief baker. Joseph told the cupbearer not to forget him when his position had been restored. He however forgot him. But God did not forget Joseph.

Men may forget you or your good deeds but God can never forget you. Also, if God does not remember you, then, no man can remember you. God was the one who arranged the dreams that king Pharaoh had. He remembered Joseph. He also ensured that no one could interpret the dream except Joseph. God also reminded the cupbearer about Joseph whom he had forgotten for two years.

If God does not remember you, men will forget you. Also, if men had forgotten you, stay calm. Just pray to God to remember you. I pray that God will open His book of remembrance to you today. Wherever you have been forgotten, you will be remembered in Jesus’ name. Wherever your good deeds have been forgotten, God will facilitate the opening of your book of remembrance in Jesus’ name

King Ahasuerus remembered the good deeds of Mordecai

There was a time when two Eunuchs in the service of the Persian king, Ahasuerus, plotted to kill the king. Their names are Teresh and Bigthan. Mordecai exposed this to queen Esther and the plot was foiled. When queen Esther reported this to the king, she credited Mordecai for revealing the secret plot. However, Mordecai was not rewarded for his efforts.

However, God caused the king to lose his sleep after Mordecai and the Jews prayed. Even though the prayer point of Mordecai and the Jews was not actually about Mordecai’s promotion. There was a guy called Haman who was second in command to the king. He plotted to kill all the Jews because Mordecai refused to bow down for him. Mordecai told Esther his orphaned cousin (Esther 2:7)  about it and she told Mordecai that all the Jews should fast for her for three days. She planned to go to the king after the fast to plead for the lives of her people.

God has the power to do exceedingly, abundantly above what we ask or think. What Mordecai did not pray for, God did it for him. God caused king Ahasuerus to remember the good deed of Mordecai and he decided to honour him. Since God works in mysterious ways, it was Haman the enemy of Mordecai and the Jews who recommended how the king should honour Mordecai.  It was Haman who beautified Mordecai and announced his promotion to the whole nation.

I pray that God will remember you and cause your enemies to recommend your promotion. God will cause your enemies to beautify you and announce your promotion. I pray that whatever good deeds that you have done in the past but has been forgotten will be remembered in Jesus’ name.

God remembered Abraham and spared Lot and his family

God can remember your family members because of you. When God wanted to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, Abraham interceded for the city because his nephew was there. God could not spare the city because their sin was too grievous. However, God remembered Abraham and spared Lot and his family members. Lot’s wife was not spared only because she looked back against the instructions of God and she became a pillar of salt.

I pray that God will remember and protect all your family members and loved ones because of you. Due to your prayers, you and all that belong to you shall be delivered from destruction in Jesus’ name. People can be blessed because they are associated with you. When Paul and Silas prayed and sang in the prison, the chains of all the prisoners were broken and the prison doors were opened because of Paul and Silas. So, I pray that all those who are associated with you will be remembered and blessed because of you in Jesus’ name.

Jesus can remember you like he remembered the lame man

Jesus opened the book of remembrance to a man who had been paralyzed for 38 years (John 5:1). The man was helpless and hopeless. He had no one to help whenever the angel of God came to stir up the river once a year. Anyone who entered the river first got their healing, but there was no one to assist him for years because he was lame.

One day, Jesus remembered him and healed him. He had been stagnant for years but Jesus lifted him up. Jesus did not follow the normal process of healing the lame man knew about. He was singled out for healing among many people.

I pray that God will single you out for healing in Jesus’ name. God will remember you and deliver you from the state of stagnancy and hopelessness. He will lift you up and take  away the reproach of many years in Jesus’ name.

God will remember you too

According to the scriptures, the truth shall be established out of the mouth of two or three witnesses. We have cited several examples of those whom God remembered. There are several examples in the scripture that were not mentioned here. For instance, God remembered Hannah and gave her many children. In the same vein, He remembered Rachel and opened up her womb. God remembered Elizabeth and Zechariah and blessed them with a great son. I pray that God will remember you too in Jesus’ name.
