Prayer for Acceleration

Prayer for Acceleration: Move Forward by Divine Speed

Today, we will be considering prayer for acceleration. Have you ever felt stuck—like you’re running in place while others are soaring ahead? Perhaps you’ve prayed, planned, and worked hard, yet the results seem painfully slow. If that’s your experience, you’re not alone. But here’s the good news: God has the power to accelerate your journey and help you move forward supernaturally.

What Is Acceleration in the Spiritual Realm?

Acceleration means God compresses time and causes you to achieve in moments what would ordinarily take years. It is divine speed and progress birthed not by human effort but by divine intervention.

When God steps in, He overrides natural limitations. Delays are reversed. Wasted years are restored. Closed doors swing open. That is the power of divine acceleration—and it begins with prayer.

I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten—  the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm— my great army that I sent among you.
Joel 2:25, NIV

Moving Forward by God’s Speed

The theme “Move Forward” isn’t just about physical motion—it’s a spiritual mandate. Stagnation, delay, or regression are not your portion as a child of God. God’s desire is for you to progress, advance, and fulfill your destiny on time.

In Exodus 14:15 (NKJV), when the Israelites were trapped between Pharaoh’s army and the Red Sea, God said to Moses:

“Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward.”

Even when there appeared to be no way forward, God’s instruction was to move ahead—because His power would make a way where there was none.

Biblical Examples of Acceleration

1. Elijah outruns a chariot

“Then the hand of the Lord came upon Elijah; and he girded up his loins and ran ahead of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.”
1 Kings 18:46, NKJV

By the Spirit of God, Elijah outran horses. This is supernatural acceleration. When God’s hand comes upon you, what takes others years to accomplish, you can fulfill in months or days.

2. Joseph rises from prison to palace

In one day, Joseph moved from being a prisoner to becoming the second most powerful man in Egypt (Genesis 41:14–41). That is what divine acceleration looks like—when God shifts your season suddenly.

3. Jesus turns water to wine instantly

This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.
John 2:11, NKJV

Winemaking typically takes months or years. But Jesus, in a moment, accelerated the process, turning water into the finest wine—symbolic of God’s power to fast-track outcomes.

Prayer for Acceleration: Why It Matters

Prayer aligns your spirit with God’s plan and positions you for divine timing. When you pray for acceleration, you’re inviting God to:

  • Redeem time that’s been lost
  • Advance your purpose and open new doors
  • Empower you to run and not be weary
  • Overtake those ahead, not by competition, but by grace

Prayers to Move Forward with Speed

Here are a few focused prayers for acceleration:

1. Prayer for Restoration and Speed

“Lord, restore the years I have lost—emotionally, spiritually, financially—and cause me to advance swiftly in my purpose (Joel 2:25).”

2. Prayer for Divine Empowerment

“Father, let Your hand come upon me as it came upon Elijah. Grant me supernatural speed to overtake every delay in my life (1 Kings 18:46).”

3. Prayer to Break Stagnation

“I break free from every cycle of delay and stagnation. I declare movement and progress over every area of my life (Exodus 14:15).”

4. Prayer for Favor and Opportunity

“Lord, open doors for me that no man can shut. Accelerate my destiny by placing me at the right place at the right time (Revelation 3:8).”

Final Thoughts: Get Ready to Run

God is not bound by human timelines. If you’re feeling delayed, overlooked, or slowed down, now is the time to pray for acceleration. God’s grace can give you speed, favor, and progress beyond what you imagined. Trust Him, pray fervently, and prepare to move forward like never before.

And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you [a]heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.
Deuteronomy 28:13 (ESV)

Ready to Move Forward?

Pray for divine acceleration today and watch God redeem your time and multiply your progress. The race isn’t to the swift, but when God’s grace propels you—you will arrive ahead of time.

Prayer for Acceleration:

  1.  O Lord, restore the years I have lost—time wasted, opportunities missed, and delays endured. Let there be a divine recovery and acceleration in every area of my life in Jesus’ name.

Joel 2:25 (NIV)

“I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten— the great locust and the young locust,  the other locusts and the locust swarm— my great army that I sent among you.”

2. Father, let Your hand come upon me like it did on Elijah. Empower me to outrun every limitation and arrive at my divine destination ahead of time, by Your grace.

1 Kings 18:46 (NKJV)

“Then the hand of the Lord came upon Elijah; and he girded up his loins and ran ahead of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.”

3. Lord, let Your prophetic promise of sudden breakthroughs become my reality. Cause things to happen so fast that my head will swim—with blessings overtaking one another in my life.

Amos 9:13 (MSG)

“Yes indeed, it won’t be long now.” God’s Decree. “Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. You won’t be able to keep up. Everything will be happening at once— and everywhere you look, blessings!”

4. Father, hasten Your word in my life. Even if I look small now, Lord, make me a mighty nation. Accelerate my destiny by Your sovereign power.

Isaiah 60:22 (ESV)

“The least one shall become a clan, and the smallest one a mighty nation; I am the Lord; in its time I will hasten it.”

5. Lord, help me to forget my past and press forward. Give me grace to move intentionally and make progress toward the prize of Your calling.

Philippians 3:13–14 (NIV)

“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

Prayer for Supernatural Advancement

6. O God, align my life with Your appointed time. Let every delay give way to divine timing. Though the vision tarries, let it speak now in Jesus’ name.

Habakkuk 2:3 (KJV)

“For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”

7. Father, bring me out of every prison of delay and obscurity. Like Joseph, let my day of divine elevation come quickly and unexpectedly.

Genesis 41:14 (NIV)

“So Pharaoh sent for Joseph, and he was quickly brought from the dungeon. When he had shaved and changed his clothes, he came before Pharaoh.”

8. Satisfy me early with Your mercy, O Lord. Let me rejoice in Your goodness and see early manifestations of Your promises.

Psalm 90:14 (NIV)

“Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.”

9. Lord, help me to obey Your command to move forward—even when I’m surrounded by obstacles. Let my Red Sea part before me in Jesus’ name.

Exodus 14:15 (NKJV)

“And the Lord said to Moses, ‘Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward.’”

10. Father, let my path shine brighter each day. Cause me to progress continually and not remain stagnant in any area of my life.

Proverbs 4:18 (NIV)

“The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.”

Prayer for Quickened Progress

11. Lord, I declare that I’ve dwelt too long in the same place. Let this be the season of advancement—move me from delay to dominion.

Deuteronomy 1:6–7 (NKJV)

The Lord our God said to us at Horeb, “You have stayed long enough at this mountain. 7 Break camp and advance into the hill country of the Amorites; go to all the neighboring peoples in the Arabah, in the mountains, in the western foothills, in the Negev and along the coast, to the land of the Canaanites and to Lebanon, as far as the great river, the Euphrates.

12. By You, O Lord, I leap over walls and advance through barriers. Let every limitation be broken, and every opposition be turned into opportunities.

Psalm 18:29 (NIV)

“With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall.”

13. Lord, as I wait on You, renew my strength. Empower me to mount up with wings like eagles and run without weariness.

Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)

“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

14. O God, perform a quick and righteous work in my life. Let Your promise manifest speedily and in full measure.

Romans 9:28 (KJV)

“For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.”

15. Lord, my times are in Your hands. Deliver me from every delay caused by the enemy and move me into Your divine agenda, in Jesus’ name.

Psalm 31:15 (ESV)

“My times are in your hand; rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from my persecutors!”
