Praying For God’s Kingdom On Earth

Today, we will be praying for God’s kingdom on earth. The kingdom of God is the spiritual realm over which God reigns as king or the fulfillment on earth of God’s will. It is the realm where God reigns supreme and Jesus Christ is King. In God’s kingdom, God’s authority is recognized and His will is obeyed.

The disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray and He taught them to pray. He asked them to pray on earth for His kingdom His will. Jesus spoke so many parables about God’s kingdom. The center of Jesus’ teachings was about God’s kingdom. After Jesus’ death and resurrection, he appeared to His disciples and He was with them for forty days. During these forty days, all the training that Jesus was giving His disciples was about the kingdom of God. (Luke 4:43; Acts 1:3).

The teachings of John the Baptist were strictly about the kingdom of God. Also, when Jesus Christ sent his disciples out to preach the gospel, what He told them to do was to preach about the kingdom of God. The Apostles and the disciples continued with the message about the kingdom of God even after Jesus Christ had ascended to heaven. All these show us how important the kingdom of God is. The ultimate plan of God is to establish His kingdom on earth.

The Kingdom of the World will become God’s Kingdom

The kingdom of God was totally in place after creation until man fell. Satan introduced the kingdom of darkness into the world after the fall. The main reason while Jesus came to this world is to reestablish God’s kingdom. Ultimately, the kingdom of this world will become the kingdom of our Lord. God’s plan for us is to keep on spreading the message about God’s kingdom. The book of  Matthew 24:14 says,  “This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.”

The second coming of Jesus Christ depends on preaching the gospel of the kingdom to the whole world. So, let us keep on spreading the good news until everyone on earth hears about the gospel of God’s kingdom. Let us pray for God’s kingdom on earth.
