Praying For The Light Of The Word Of God

Day 5: 40 DAYS PRAYER, FASTING AND WORSHIP FEB 3rd to MARCH 14th, 2021.  2021, A YEAR OF NEW BEGINNING - ISAIAH 43:17-19

Short Exhortation About The Word Of God:

Light is synonymous to illumination. When the Word of God illuminates your heart, you have a clear understanding of the scripture. Just like food enhances growth, the knowledge of the Word of God enhances spiritual growth. Jesus while responding to Satan when He was tempted in the wilderness said “It is written: ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4) We need the Word of God to fight and overcome every temptation. If Jesus Christ who is the Word of God still needed to quote the Word of God to overcome the devil’s temptations, then we need the Word of God. Psalm 119: 105 describes the Word of God as a lamp to our feet. So, the knowledge of the Word of God will prevent us from working in darkness. Your knowledge of the Word of God determines how well you can enjoy all the benefits that God has to offer. As Christians, the devil is not really our problem, the lack of knowledge of the Word of God is our greatest problem. Hosea 4:6 says that God’s people perish due to lack of knowledge. Today, we have the Holy Spirit whom the bible says will teach us all things and He will remind us of everything Jesus have said (John 14:26). Therefore, every Christian is supposed to have the light of the Word of God because we all have access to the Holy Spirit.

“So that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.”

2 Corinthians 4:4

8. For as many as our reading the Word of God but do not have a clear understanding, Lord please open their heart to understand the Word of God in Jesus’ name. Open their spiritual understanding so that they will see the clarity of the Word of God in Jesus’ name

Acts 8:26-40

26 Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Rise and go toward the south[a] to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is a desert place. 27 And he rose and went. And there was an Ethiopian, a eunuch, a court official of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of all her treasure. He had come to Jerusalem to worship 28 and was returning, seated in his chariot, and he was reading the prophet Isaiah. 29 And the Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and join this chariot.” 30 So Philip ran to him and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet and asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?” 31 And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. 32 Now the passage of the Scripture that he was reading was this:

“Like a sheep he was led to the slaughter and like a lamb before its shearer is silent,

so he opens not his mouth. 33 In his humiliation justice was denied him. Who can describe his generation? For his life is taken away from the earth.”

34 And the eunuch said to Philip, “About whom, I ask you, does the prophet say this, about himself or about someone else?” 35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this Scripture he told him the good news about Jesus. 36 And as they were going along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “See, here is water! What prevents me from being baptized?”[b] 38 And he commanded the chariot to stop, and they both went down into the water, Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him. 39 And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord carried Philip away, and the eunuch saw him no more, and went on his way rejoicing. 40 But Philip found himself at Azotus, and as he passed through he preached the gospel to all the towns until he came to Caesarea.

9. Lord, I pray that I will pay attention to the Word of God in Jesus’ name. The light of the Word of God will shine in my heart in Jesus’ name and take away every form of darkness in my heart.

2 Peter 1:19-21

So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts. But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

10. Lord I pray that you will give me the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you in Jesus’ name.

Ephesians 1:17

“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him.”

11. Father, please give me your good Spirit to instruct me in your Word in Jesus’ name.

Nehemiah 9:20

“You gave Your good Spirit to instruct them, Your manna You did not withhold from their mouth, And You gave them water for their thirst.”
