Thank God for giving you rest in your career
Thank God for giving you rest in your career

Today, you should thank God for giving you rest in your career. God has the capacity to give you rest in your career. Joseph started his career by tending the flocks of his father. Later he was sold as a slave to Potiphar in Egypt. Joseph continued his career as a slave in Potiphar’s house. He did well and Potiphar put him in charge of his business. Potiphar’s wife started pressuring Joseph to sleep with her. However, Joseph declined and he was framed up by Potiphar’s wife. Joseph was thrown into the prison and he continued his career there. While in the prison, the prison warden put him in charge of the prison. One thing stood out for Joseph wherever he worked, he had the spirit of excellence and he was always the head and not the tail. He always stood out in any organization he found himself.
You Can Excel In Your Career
The story of Joseph shows us that we can excel wherever organization we work with. God can give you rest in your career. Joseph did not end his career in prison. He got to the peak of his career. God remembered him while he was in prison and he worked in the palace as the Prime Minister.
Everyone in king Pharaoh’s government started reporting to Joseph. He did not have a permanent residency in Egypt and he was not an Egyptian citizen. Yet, he got the job that the citizens were not qualified for. He was a slave and an ex-convict, yet, all these did not limit his promotion for the top job in the land. There was no record that he went to some of the best schools in the land like University of Oxford, Harvard University or University of Cambridge, yet, he was more qualified than all the nobles and the scholars at that time.
God Gave Joseph Rest In His Career
When God decides to give you rest in your career, there will be nothing that can limit or hinder you. Not even your qualifications nor your background can limit you. In a jiffy, king Pharaoh commanded that Joseph’s prisoner’s cloth should be changed to that of royalty. In a day. He had a retinue of servants. Joseph was given the best chariots in the land which was an equivalent of the best cars in the world, like Rolls-Royce Boat Tail or Bugatti la Voiture Noire. He was given wardrobe allowance and to crown it all, he was given a wife. I am sure that his former boss, Potiphar, must have been reporting to him. Afterall, it was only king Pharaoh’s position that was higher than that of Joseph.
Who says that you cannot get all the things you have been praying or craving for in one day? When God decides that you are entering into His rest, nothing can stop you, not even your humble background. Joseph got a good job. He got a good wife. Joseph became very wealthy. He had a good house, the best chariots and he got his freedom from slavery. This is a case of “When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed.” (Psalms 126:1- NIV).
God gave Joseph rest in his career. He became a Prime Minister at the age of thirty and he died at the age of one hundred and ten. He was in that position for eighty years. That is a perfect definition of rest in one’s career. I pray that just like God did it for Joseph, He will do it for you also. Therefore, thank God in advance for giving you rest in your career.
