Praying For Transformation by God’s Glory
Transformation by God’s Glory: Becoming Who We Were Created to Be
Today, we will be praying for transformation by God’s Glory. In a world constantly changing, true and lasting transformation can only come from one source — God’s glory. While many seek self-help books, motivational talks, or outward reforms, the Bible points us to a deeper, more profound change that begins from the inside out: a transformation by encountering and living in the glory of God.
What Is God’s Glory?
God’s glory is the radiant manifestation of His presence, character, and power. It is the weight of His holiness and majesty. When we speak of God’s glory, we are speaking of everything that makes God, God — His goodness, beauty, authority, and excellence. In both the Old and New Testaments, His glory is revealed to change people, nations, and destinies.
“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
— 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NIV)
This verse reveals a powerful truth: beholding God’s glory brings transformation. As we look to Him, worship Him, and walk with Him, we become more like Him.
Transformation Begins in His Presence
Moses’ face shone after he spent time with God on Mount Sinai (Exodus 34:29). Isaiah was cleansed and commissioned after seeing the glory of the Lord in the temple (Isaiah 6:1-8). Peter, James, and John were forever changed after witnessing the transfiguration of Jesus (Matthew 17:1-9).
God’s glory is not just something to admire — it is something that changes us.
3 Ways God’s Glory Transforms Us:
1. From Bondage to Freedom
The presence of God liberates. The glory of God removes the veils over our hearts — the lies, shame, sin, and pain that keep us from walking in freedom.
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
— 2 Corinthians 3:17 (NIV)
You cannot stay the same when you truly encounter God. The chains of addiction, fear, and insecurity begin to break when you see how glorious and powerful He is.
2. From Glory to Greater Glory
Transformation isn’t a one-time event. It’s a journey — from glory to glory. As you continue to walk with God, read His Word, and seek His face, you’re changed daily.
“The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.”
— Proverbs 4:18 (NIV)
The more you see of God, the more your character, desires, and actions begin to reflect Him.
3. From Self-Focus to Christ-Focus
True transformation happens when we stop focusing on ourselves and start focusing on Jesus. God’s glory redirects our lives from selfish ambition to eternal purpose.
“Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
— Colossians 1:27 (NIV)
His glory doesn’t just come upon you — it lives within you when Christ is your Savior. You become a carrier of His glory to the world.
How Can We Experience Transformation by God’s Glory?
Here are a few practical steps:
- Seek God’s Presence Daily – Make time for prayer, worship, and reading His Word.
- Live a Life of Worship – Worship isn’t just a song, it’s a lifestyle of surrender and devotion.
- Let Go of Sin and Distractions – Transformation requires us to lay aside what entangles us.
- Walk in Community – Being around other believers sharpens and strengthens us.
- Be Obedient to His Voice – Transformation requires response. When God speaks, act.
You Were Made for Glory
You were created to reflect God’s image. Sin may have marred that image, but through Jesus, God restores us — transforming us into His likeness.
“For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.”
— Romans 8:29 (NIV)
This is the essence of transformation by God’s glory: not becoming a better version of ourselves, but becoming more like Jesus.
Conclusion
Transformation by God’s glory isn’t about striving or performing. It’s about beholding — fixing our eyes on Jesus and allowing His Spirit to do the work within us. As we do, we will reflect His glory more and more, becoming radiant examples of His grace, love, and power.
