Praying For The Fruits Of The Holy Spirit

Day 10: 40 DAYS PRAYER, FASTING AND WORSHIP FEB 3rd to MARCH 14th, 2021. 2021, A YEAR OF NEW BEGINNING - ISAIAH 43:17-19

Short Exhortation About The Fruits Of The Holy Spirit

The fruit of the Holy Spirit are very important and they are a major prerequisite for us to make heaven. You can operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and still miss heaven, but if you have the fruit of the Spirit, your reign with Christ in eternity is guaranteed. In Luke 10:1-20, when Jesus Christ sent the seventy-two disciples out to go and preach the gospel, they came back with a report that even the demons were submitting to them. They performed all manners of miracles, signs and wonders. However, when they brought the report to Jesus, Jesus told them not to rejoice because demons are bowing down to them. Rather, He told them to rejoice because their names were written in the book of life. It is the fruits of the Holy Spirit that shape your character and build you up to reign with Christ in eternity. Matthew 7:21 says, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the ones who do the will of my Father who is in heaven.” It is the fruit of the Holy Spirit that builds you up and enables you to do the will of God.

The book of Galatians 5;22-23 says, “22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” All these nine gifts are the necessary traits, qualifications and attributes of every candidate of heaven. These are the fruits they saw in Jesus’ disciples in Antioch in Acts 11:26, before calling them Christians. As Christians we need to place more value on the fruit of the Holy Spirit more than the gifts of the Holy Spirit. You cannot have the fruit of the Holy Spirit and miss heaven but you can have all the gifts of the Holy Spirit and still miss heaven. So let us pray earnestly for these fruits.
