Giving Thanks To God

Night of Divine Encounter (NODE) 2nd Edition, Day 1 - Giving Thanks To God - Saturday, July 31st, 2021. Theme: The Touch of God

Giving Thanks To God Is A Necessity

The reason why many are not thanking God enough is because they are forgetful. Anyone who focuses on what God has not done will quickly forget what He has done. We are admonished not to forget God’s benefits. Psalm 103 enumerates those benefits. We need to thank God for healing, for forgiving our sins and for redeeming our souls from destruction.

Prayer of thanksgiving brings speedy answers to our prayers. When you thank God for what He has done, He will give you what you need which you have not even asked Him for because He knows your needs. Jesus blessed God for the five loaves of bread and two fish and they multiplied. Paul and Silas worshipped God in the prison and they got their deliverance miraculously. Their worship opened the prison doors to other prisoners and also broke their chains.

The miracles that many of us have been looking for are hidden in our worship. We are also expected to thank God for His promises even when we have not seen the manifestation. The moment God told Jehoshaphat that He will defeat all the enemies that waged a war against them, they started worshipping God even when their enemies were yet to be defeated. You can worship God in advance for what He has promised to do and you will quickly get a speedy answer to His promises.

Let us pray these prayer of thanksgiving to praise God for what He has done and to thank Him in advance for what He will do
