Pray That God Will Build His Church And Destroy The Gates Of Hell
Today, we will pray that God will build His Church and destroy the gates of hell. Jesus promised us that He will build His church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. It shows us that Jesus is the builder of the Church. Psalm 127:1 says, “Unless the LORD builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted. Unless the LORD protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good.” Jesus is not only the builder of the Church, He is also the Chief Architect. He is the sure foundation. Isaiah 28:16 says, “So this is what the Sovereign LORD says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic.” I pray that God will build His church and destroy the gates of hell.
The major opposition to the Church is the gates of hell. The gates of hell normally attack the Church through various means. Sometimes, the devil tries to dominate our political space and they will promulgate laws that are against the Church. It was those who were in the position of authority who instigated people against Jesus. They ganged up against Jesus and killed Him. They did not stop at that. When He resurrected, they bribed the soldiers to lie to the people that He didn’t resurrect. Also, when the disciples were spreading the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, the authority at that time waged war against them. They maimed, imprisoned and killed many just to prevent the gospel from spreading. Despite all their efforts to silence the Church, the gate of hell did not prevail against the Church.
Devil Normally Launch Attack Against God’s Shepherds
Another way the devil normally attacks the Church is to launch an attack against the Shepherds of the Church. Matthew 26:31 says, “Then Jesus told them, “This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written: “’I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.” Any attack against the leaders of the Church is a major attack from the pit of hell aiming at prevailing against the Church. The major mistakes that many Christians are making is that they are not sensitive to the gimmicks of Satan.
Many believers normally join the unbelievers in attacking Christian leaders instead of praying for them. Don’t rejoice whenever you see a Church leader falling or when he or she makes a major mistake. It is the strategy of the devil to weaken the faith of new converts or weak believers. I pray that the Lord will build His Church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it in Jesus’ name.
One of the ways by which the devil attacks the Church is by raising false prophets that will promote false doctrines. He normally uses this method to deceive the believers so that they can go astray. He knows that if the Church knows the truth, the truth will set them free. The devil is the father of lies and he normally spreads lies to deceive the believers. That was the same strategy he used for Adam and Eve. He deceived them and they went against the will of God. We have to resist the devil so that he can flee. I pray that God will build His Church and destroy the gates of hell in Jesus’ name.
Prayer Points
- Father, I pray that you will build your Church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. Lord, I pray that you will destroy the gates of hell trying to fight the Church in Jesus’ name
Matthew 16:18
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
2. Father, I pray that you will destroy gates of hell militating against the Church in Jesus’ name. Lord, you own the keys of death and Hades, I pray that you build your Church and you will destroy the gates of hell in Jesus’ name
Revelation 1:18
I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.
3. Father, I pray that you will destroy principalities, powers and rulers of darkness militating against the Church. Lord, I pray that light will triumph over darkness I pray that you will destroy the spiritual wickedness in high places in Jesus’ name
Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
4. Father, I pray that you will contend with every force of darkness contending against the Church leaders. Lord, I pray that you will uphold our Church leaders and give them the grace to overcome all forms of trials and temptations.
Numbers 16:30
But if the Lord brings about something totally new, and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them, with everything that belongs to them, and they go down alive into the realm of the dead, then you will know that these men have treated the Lord with contempt.”
5. Father, I pray that you will put all the forces of darkness contending against the Church under our feet. Lord, I pray that you will build your Church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it in Jesus’ name
Ephesians 1:22-23
“And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 23 Which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all.
6. Father, I pray that you will build your Church in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that no matter the attack on the Church, only the counsel of God concerning the Church will prevail in Jesus’ name

7. Father, I pray that the forces of darkness will not be able to destroy the sure foundation which you have laid for the Church. Lord, we pray that you will preserve the Church. Lord, I pray that the Church will grow in leaps and bounds in Jesus’ name
Isaiah 28:16

8. Father, I pray that you will protect our Church leaders and shield them from every attack of the enemies in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will lead our leaders and give them the grace to withstand all the attacks of the enemies in Jesus’ name.
Matthew 26:31
