Pray That God Will Destroy Harmful Addictions In Our Children
Today, we will pray that God will destroy harmful addictions in our children. Our children are the heritage of the Lord and we must not allow the devil to tamper with their destiny. God has a great plan for our children and we must not loose them to harmful addictions. Some children involved themselves in different types of addictions. Some are suffering from alcohol addictions while some are suffering from drug addictions. We have children who engage in pornography while others are into masturbation. Some visit ungodly sites while others are into sexual immorality. I pray that God will deliver our children from all forms of addictions in Jesus’ name.
Addiction to alcohol has a devastating effect. Noah slept with his two daughters because his daughters made him drunk. I believe that the daughters must have devised this means because they must have observed that their father was a drunkard. This means that addiction to alcohol can make you do the unthinkable and the unimaginable. Noah also must have been a drunkard. He was drunk and naked when one of his sons, Ham, saw his nakedness. This simply means that addiction can strip you naked. When Absalom was going to kill his step brother, Amnon, he told the servant to kill him when he was drunk. This means that addiction to alcohol can lead to an untimely death. I pray that the Lord will deliver our children from addictions in Jesus’ name.
God Can Deliver From Addiction To Sexual Immorality
Another type of addiction that can lead to death is sexual immorality. Samson was caught up in the web of this addiction. He was constantly running after strange women. He engaged himself in unequal yoke with unbelievers. Samson neglected the instructions given to him by God through his parents. God expected Samson to consecrate himself but he destroyed all the fabrics of his consecration. Most of the exploits that Samson did was because he wanted to impress some strange women. He killed several Philistines because they gave his wife to another man. He uprooted the gates of the city shortly after he slept with a prostitute.
Eventually, Delilah caught off Samson’s strands of anointing as he slept on her laps. The Philistines plucked out his eyes and he died prematurely. This means that addiction to sexual immorality can lead to an untimely death. I pray that the Lord will deliver our children from sexual immorality in Jesus’ name.
God Can Deliver From Addiction To Pornography
There was a time when King David engaged in pornography. He stayed behind at home in the time of war instead of going to the battle field. In the process, he saw Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah, where she was taking her bath and he refused to take his eyes off the scene. He went further to bring the woman under his roof and he slept with her. This sin led to more sins. He wrote a letter to Joab, his commanding officer, and gave him some instructions that led to the death of several soldiers on the battlefield. He also killed Uriah in the process. This shows that addiction to pornography is a deadly sin that can lead to more sins like adultery and murderer. I pray that God will deliver our children from addiction to pornography in Jesus’ name.
As we pray today, I pray that the Lord will deliver us from harmful addictions in Jesus’ name.

2. Father, I pray that you will deliver our children from all ungodly habits that are dominating them in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will deliver our children from addictions in Jesus’ name

All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything.
3. Father, I pray that you will deliver our children from evil companionships that lead them to addictions in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will deliver our children from all ungodly habits that is corrupting their good morals in Jesus’ name
1 Corinthians 15:33
Be not deceived: Evil companionships corrupt good morals.
4. Father, I pray that you will deliver our children from every load of addictions that might be weighing them down in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that our children will take up your yoke which is easy and your buren that is light in Jesus’ name
Matthew 11:28-29
Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke and put it on you, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit; and you will find rest
5. Father, I pray that you will give our children the grace to be sober and vigilant in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that the devil will not devour our children through the burden of addictions in Jesus’ name.
1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
6. Father, I pray that you will break the yoke of addictions in our children in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will give our children the grace and the strength to overcome temptations in Jesus’ name
James 1:12-15
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. 13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
7. Father, I pray that you will give our children the grace to submit themselves to you. Lord, I pray that when they face temptations, you will give them the grace to resist the devil until he flees. Father, I pray that you will deliver our children from harmful addictions in Jesus’ name
James 4:7
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you
8. Father, I pray that you will deliver our children from the works of the flesh in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will set our children free from all the works of the flesh and you will deliver them from addictions. Father, I pray that our children will walk in your plans and inherit your kingdom in Jesus’ name
Galatians 5:19-21
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
9. Father, I pray that you will give our children the grace to abstain from fleshly lust which war against their soul. Lord, I pray that you will set our children free from all sorts of harmful addictions in Jesus’ name
1 Peter 2:11
Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
10. Father, I pray that you will deliver any of our children who are addicted to strong drink in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will open their eyes and give them the wisdom to see that wine is a mocker. I pray that you will deliver them from the deception of strong drinks in Jesus’ name
Proverbs 20:1
Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
11. Father, I pray that anytime our children call on you when they are tempted you will deliver them in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will deliver our children from harmful addictions and they will honour you in Jesus’ name
Psalm 50:15
and call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”
12. Father, I pray that our children will clothe themselves with the Lord Jesus Christ. I pray that our children will not gratify the desires of the flesh in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will deliver our children from harmful addictions.
Romans 13:14
Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh
13. Father, I pray that you will deliver our children from temptations and from evil in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will deliver our children from whatever trap the devil has set for them in Jesus’ name
Matthew 6:13
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
14. Father, I pray that you will deliver our children from addiction to fornication in Jesus’ name. I pray that our children will not scoop fire into their laps and they will not burn their feet in Jesus’ name.
Proverbs 6:27-29
Can a man scoop fire into his lap without his clothes being burned? 28 Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched? 29 So is he who sleeps with another man’s wife; no one who touches her will go unpunished.
15. Father, I pray that you will deliver our children from all forms of sexual immorality in Jesus’ name. Lord, deliver our children from addiction to masturbation and pornography in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will deliver our children from the works of the flesh.
1 Corinthians 6:18
Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body.
16. Father, I pray that you will give our children the grace to walk in the Spirit in Jesus’ name. I pray that our children will not fulfill the lust of the flesh in Jesus’ name
Galatians 5:16
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
17. Father, I pray that you will set our children free from all sorts of addictions in Jesus’ name. You said in your Word that if the son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed. So, I pray that you will deliver our children from all forms of harmful addictions in Jesus’ name
John 8:36
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
18. Father, I pray that you will deliver our children from evil companionship in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will deliver our children from those who are servants of corruption who are promising our children a strange liberty. Father, deliver our children from the bondage of harmful addictions in Jesus’ name
2 Peter 2:19
While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
