Pray That God Will Deliver You From The Lust Of The Eyes
Today, we will be praying that God will deliver us from the lust of the eyes. One of the ways by which Satan tempts and attacks us is through the lust of the eyes. God told Adam that he can eat out of all the trees of the garden but he should not eat out of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. However, when Satan tempted Eve, he painted a picture of a desirable fruit to Eve. She lusted after the fruit, she ate it and gave it to her husband, and that led to the downfall of man. Genesis 3:6 says, “When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.”
This shows that Satan got the first man to fall through the lust of the eyes. The lust of the eyes is so serious to the extent that Jesus said that you have committed adultery if you look at a woman lustfully. Matthew 5:28 says, “But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” This shows that a man commits adultery not only by sleeping with a woman, but by looking at a woman lustfully. No wonder, Job said, “I have made a covenant with my eyes; How then could I gaze at a virgin? (Job 31:1) This shows that one of the ways to be delivered from the lust of the eyes is by making a covenant with your eyes.
Lust of The Eyes Can Kill
Samson cut short his life through lust of the eyes. He was always lusting after strange women. Eventually, Delilah, one of the strange women he lusted after, cut off his strands of anointing while he slept on her laps. The enemies went for Samson’s eyes and plucked off his eyes after they arrested him. They thought that they had destroyed his vision. They never never knew that they had only succeeded in removing his distractions. Matthew 5:29 says, “If your right eye makes you stumble, tear it out and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.” After Samson’s eyes were removed, he was focused and did more exploits at his death. I pray that the Lord will deliver you from the lust of the eyes in Jesus’ name.
Achan stole some valuables from the spoils in Jericho because he lusted after them. In his words in Joshua 7:21, he said, “When I saw in the plunder a beautiful robe from Babylonia, two hundred shekels of silver and a bar of gold weighing fifty shekels, I coveted them and took them. They are hidden in the ground inside my tent, with the silver underneath.” Eventually, what Achan lusted after led to his death. This shows that lust of the eyes has the capacity to kill. I pray that God will deliver you from the lust of the eyes in Jesus’ name.

- Father, I pray that you will deliver me from the lust of the eyes in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will give me the grace to control my eyes so that I can please you all the days of my life

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.
2. Father, I pray that you will deliver me from all forms of temptations that come through the lust of the eyes. I pray that I will not become a prey of Satan in Jesus’ name
Genesis 3:6
When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.
3. Father, I pray that you will deliver me from the lust of the eyes. I pray for the grace not to look at a woman lustfully in Jesus’ name
Matthew 5:28
“But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
4. Father, I pray that you will deliver me from a lustful eyes. I receive the grace to be satisfied with whatever you have given me in Jesus’ name
Proverbs 27:20
Sheol and Abaddon are never satisfied, nor are the eyes of man ever satisfied.
5. Father, I pray that you will help me to control my eyes not to lust after a strange woman in Jesus’ name. I pray that I will not be captured by her eyelids in Jesus’ name
Proverbs 6:25
Do not desire her beauty in your heart, nor let her capture you with her eyelids.
6. Father, I receive the grace to make a covenant with my eyes so that I will not gaze at a virgin lustfully.
Job 31:1
“I have made a covenant with my eyes; How then could I gaze at a virgin?
7. Father, I pray that my eyes will not make me stumble in Jesus’ name. I pray that my eyes will not send me to hell fire in Jesus’ name
Matthew 5:29
If your right eye makes you stumble, tear it out and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.
8. Father, I pray that you will give me the grace to control my eyes so that I will not end up like Samson. Lord, I pray that you will deliver me with the lust of the eyes in Jesus’ name
Judges 14:1-3
Samson went down to Timnah and saw there a young Philistine woman. 2 When he returned, he said to his father and mother, “I have seen a Philistine woman in Timnah; now get her for me as my wife.” 3 His father and mother replied, “Isn’t there an acceptable woman among your relatives or among all our people? Must you go to the uncircumcised Philistines to get a wife?” But Samson said to his father, “Get her for me. She’s the right one for me.”
9. Father, I pray that you will heal my eyes and let them be a lamp to my body in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will give me healthy eyes so that my whole body will be full of light. I pray that you will deliver me from darkness in Jesus’ name
Matthew 6:22-23
“The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
10. Father, I pray that I will be focused and I will not be carried away and enticed by the lust of the eyes. Lord, I pray that my eyes will not send me to hell fire in Jesus’ name
James 1:14-15
But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death.
11. Father, I pray that I will not sin against you with the eyes that you have blessed me with in Jesus’ name. I pray that I will not make a costly mistakes through lust of the eyes that will result in a great calamity in my home in Jesus’ name.
2 Samuel 11:2-4
One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of the palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing. The woman was very beautiful, 3 and David sent someone to find out about her. The man said, “She is Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam and the wife of Uriah the Hittite.” 4 Then David sent messengers to get her. She came to him, and he slept with her. (Now she was purifying herself from her monthly uncleanness.)Then she went back home.
12. Father, I pray that you will preserve me and deliver me from death that can come as a result of the lust of the eyes.
Joshua 7:20-21
