Pray That God Will Deliver You From The Lust Of The Flesh
Today, we will pray that God will deliver us from the lust of the flesh. Lust of the flesh is one of the ways by which the devil attacks us. Apostle Paul expressed how he contended against the flesh after he had given his life to Jesus Christ. Romans 7:18 says, “For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not.” He wanted to do good but the flesh prevented him from doing that.
However, he later explained how he got his deliverance from the flesh. Romans 8:1 says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” I pray that the Lord will deliver us from the lust of the flesh in Jesus’ name.
Be An Eunuch For Christ By Crucifying The Flesh
In one the teachings of Jesus, He explained different types of Eunuchs. Who are eunuchs? An Eunuch is a man who has been castrated, especially one employed to guard the women’s living areas in an Asian court. Matthew 19;12 says, “For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother’s womb; and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are also eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. He who is able to accept this, let him accept it.” Some eunuchs are born like that while some were castrated by the kings to take care of their wives. The king knows that his queens are safe in the hands of these eunuchs because they have been castrated.
Jesus explained that we have some who are eunuchs for Chrsit. These sets of people are not eunuchs but they made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. These sets of people have won themselves off the lust of the flesh. They have control over their flesh. Although they are not castrated, they have disciplined their body and brought it under subjection for the sake of kingdom heaven. That is how God wants us to live our lives as Christians. As we pray today, I pray that God will deliver us from the lust of the flesh in Jesus’ name.
The Flesh Offers Corruption
The flesh has only one thing to offer. It is called corruption. Galatians 6:8 says, “For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.” You will realize from this scripture that only the Spirit can help you to reap eternal life. Romans 8:8 says, “And those who are in the flesh cannot please God.” If you really wants to please God, you need to pray earnestly that God will deliver you from the lust of the flesh.
Prayer Points
- Father, I pray that you will deliver me from the lust of the flesh in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will give me the grace to control my flesh in Jesus’ name.
1 John 2:16
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.
2. Father, I pray that you will deliver me from deceitful and a sick heart. Lord, I pray that you will deliver me from the lust of the flesh in Jesus’ name.
Jeremiah 17:9
“The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; Who can understand it?
3. Father, I pray for the grace to make myself an eunuch for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. I receive the grace to deny myself of the pleasure of this world in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will deliver me from the lust of the flesh in Jesus’ name.
Matthew 19:12

4. Father, I pray that you will give me the grace to do good always in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that I will not only be willing to do good, but you will also empower me to do good in Jesus’ name
Romans 7:18

5. Father, I pray for the grace not to walk after the flesh but to walk after the Spirit in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will deliver me from condemnation in Jesus’ name
Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
6. Father, I pray that I will not set my mind on the things of the flesh but on those things according to the Spirit in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will deliver me from the lust of the flesh
Romans 8:5
For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
7. Father, I pray for the grace to please you in all I do in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will deliver me from the lust of the flesh
Romans 8:8
“And those who are in the flesh cannot please God.”
8. Father, I pray for the grace not to live according to the flesh. I pray that by the Spirit, I will put to death the deeds of the body in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will deliver me from the lust of the flesh
Romans 8:13
“For if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
9. Father, I pray for the grace to behave properly all the time in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will deliver me from drunkenness, sexual promiscuity and sensuality in Jesus’ name. I pray that you will deliver me from strife and jealousy and I will not make a provision for the flesh in Jesus’ name
Romans 13:13-14
Let us behave properly as in the day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and sensuality, not in strife and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts.
10. Father, I pray that you will give me the grace to walk by the Spirit and I will not carry out the desire of the flesh in Jesus’ name. I pray that I will not do things that please me but only things that please God in Jesus’ name
Galatians 5:16-17
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.
11. Father, I pray that you will count me among those who belong to you in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray for the grace to crucify the flesh with its passion and desires in Jesus’ name
Galatians 5:24
Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
12. Father, I pray that I will not sow to the flesh but I will sow to the Spirit in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that I will not reap corruption but I will reap eternal life in Jesus’ name
Galatians 6:8

13. Father, I pray that you will deliver me from the lust of the flesh and I will stop indulging in sinful nature in Jesus’ name.
Ephesians 2:3
Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.
