Pray That God Will Deliver You From The Pride of Life

Today, we will be praying that God will deliver us from the pride of life. Pride has the tendency to destroy. Before the downfall of any man comes pride. God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble. Proverbs 11:2 says, “When pride comes, then comes shame; but with the humble is wisdom.” This shows that when you are humble, you will gain more wisdom. Jesus Christ is an epitome of humility. He humbled himself by leaving heaven to come to the earth. Heaven has streets of gold, yet Jesus Christ was born in a manger. I thought that He would have been born in a mansion but He was born in a manger. When the three wise men were looking for Jesus, they thought that someone of that caliber should be found in the palace. This shows how humble Jesus is.

Jesus endured the cross. It takes humility for Him to go through everything that He went through. Considering the punishment that they meted out to Him, it takes great humility for Him not to fight back. Jesus had the capacity to fight back. He could have commanded many legions of angels to defend Him. He had to refuse to say a word when they were persecuting Him because if He had spoken against them, they would have been destroyed. Although Jesus is equal to God, He refused to equate Himself to God. You will never see any trace of pride in Jesus. God has highly exalted Jesus and gave Him a name that is above every other name due to His humility. Do you also want to be exalted? Pray that the Lord will deliver you from the pride of life in Jesus’ name.

Pride Led To The Downfall of Nebuchadnezzar

There was a time when king Nebuchadnezzar was boastful. God resisted him and humbled him. Daniel 4:30-31 says, “The king spoke, saying, “Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for a royal dwelling by my mighty power and for the honor of my majesty?” While the word was still in the king’s mouth, a voice fell from heaven: “King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken: the kingdom has departed from you!” God resist the proud. Anytime you are prideful, God will humble you. God took the kingdom away from king Nebuchadnezzar due to his pride. I pray that the Lord will deliver you from the pride of life in Jesus’ name.

I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. 19 And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”’

Special Bible Passage

2 Corinthians 12:7-10

And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. 8 Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. 9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
