Night of Divine Encounter (NODE) 9th Edition, Day 1 - Magnifying Our Father in Heaven - Join us on Friday, April 1st, 2022 for the Night of Divine Encounter between 7pm to 10pm MST. Theme- The Midnight Hour

Magnifying Our Father In Heaven

Today, we are going to be magnifying our Father in heaven. To magnify means to praise highly, to glorify or to extol. Magnifying our father in heaven means to praise or render praise to God. To magnify God means to make Him greater in size, status or appearance. It means to enlarge, increase, augment or advance.

So, can we really magnify God? Does that mean that our Lord is small in size and needs our magnification? Our God is so big that the heaven could not contain Him, He had to make the earth His footstool. When we praise or magnify God, it is really to our benefit. The truth is that, although our God is a big God, many try to belittle Him. You belittle God when you magnify your problem and challenges above God. You belittle God, when you don’t trust Him that He can do all things and you belittle Him when you limit His capacity or capability. God has the capacity to heal, to save and deliver you from every trouble you may be going through. When you doubt God, you belittle Him.

Stop Magnifying Your Problem

If you are always magnifying your problems, they are going to get bigger. However, if you choose to magnify God, then God will get bigger and your problems or challenges will fizzle out. Paul and Silas magnified the Lord even while in the prison. They did not magnify the trouble they went through nor did they magnify the closed doors. They did not magnify their chains or lack of food in the prison. Also, they refused to magnify the humiliation they went through. As they were magnifying our Father in Heaven, their chains were broken, the prison doors were opened and the jailer who had humiliated them brought them back to honor. He brought them out of the prison and set a meal before them.

The city of Judah refused to magnify their problems when they were faced with three nations. In the midst of war they were magnifying our Father in heaven. As they began to do that, God fought their battle for them and all their enemies were utterly destroyed. Let us recollect the story of the three Hebrews who refused to bow down to Nebuchadnezzar’s idol. The king decided to throw them into the lake of fire as a consequence of their refusal to bow to the idol. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, refused to wail or magnify their persecution when they were about to be thrown into the lake of fire. They were magnifying our Father in heaven instead. God was moved with this and came down into their midst. He rescued them and the fire could not consume them.

Let us also magnify the Lord today for His faithfulness towards us.
