Praying For Open Doors of Divine Placement

Today, we are going to be praying for open doors of divine placement. Divine placement is the act of divine positioning orchestrated by a supernatural arrangement. In this case, God will be the initiator and the  orchestrator of such placement.

When we think of those whom God divinely promoted in the bible, some names will come to mind. Mordecai was a Gatekeeper when God divinely promoted him to the second in command to the king. He did not fast or pray for this promotion. He only fasted and prayed to God for three days for God to spare his life and the lives of the Jews from pending danger. Haman was planning to eliminate all the Jews because Mordecai refused to bow to him. When God was going to answer him, Haman hung on the same pole he erected for Mordecai, thereafter Mordecai took over Haman’s position.

God: The Orchestrator of Divine Placement

Joseph is another case study that is worthy of mentioning. He slept as a prisoner and woke up to become the Prime Minister. The rate at which God promoted him was astonishing. He got the best job in the land, got a wife and a retinue of servants within a day. The same man that had been forgotten in the prison for years became an authority in the land within a day. That is divine placement.

God opened the door of divine placement for Esther. She was an orphan and a slave when God remembered her. Queen Vashti misbehaved by refusing to honor her husband, the king. He demanded for a replacement and Esther was preferred among all the ladies after a rigorous search. This is what divine placement is all about.

David was a guy who was just busy tending his father’s flock. He was not thinking of the throne when favor beckoned on him. His father had forgotten him in the bush. When Samuel told Jesse the father of David to present all his children to know whom God preferred for the throne, he did not present David. However, the stone that the builder rejected eventually became the chief corner stone. God is still in the business of lifting men. As we pray today, I pray that God will open the door of divine placement for you in Jesus’ name.

Prayer Points

  1. Father, I thank you for being my shield and my glory. Lord, I thank you because you are the one who lifts my head.

Psalm 3:3

But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.

2. Father, I pray that just like you remembered Hannah and lifted her up by giving her children. I pray that you will remember me also by lifting me from the ash heap to sit with princes.

1 Samuel 2:8

He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes and has them inherit a throne of honor. “For the foundations of the earth are the LORD’s; on them he has set the world.

3. Father, I pray that you will raise me from the dust and lift me up. Open the door of divine placement for me in Jesus’ name.

Psalm 113:7

He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap;

4. Father, I pray that you will lift me up just like you lifted Mordecai. Lord, give me a position that I did not pray or lobby for in Jesus’ name.

Esther 8:1-2

On that day King Ahasuerus gave the house of Haman, the enemy of the Jews, to Queen Esther; and Mordecai came before the king, because Esther had disclosed what he was to her. 2 Then the king took off his signet ring, which he had taken away from Haman, and gave it to Mordecai. And Esther set Mordecai over the house of Haman.

5. Father, I pray that you will lift me up just like you lifted Joseph up. Lord, give me the best position in this land and elevate me beyond my imagination in Jesus’ name.

Genesis 41:41-44

41 So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt.” 42 Then Pharaoh took his signet ring from his finger and put it on Joseph’s finger. He dressed him in robes of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck. 43 He had him ride in a chariot as his second-in-command, and people shouted before him, “Make way!” Thus he put him in charge of the whole land of Egypt.44 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, but without your word no one will lift hand or foot in all Egypt.”

6. Father, I pray for the grace to be humble just like Jesus. Lord, I pray that as I humble myself, you will lift me up in Jesus’ name. I pray that you will make my name great among the great names in all the earth.

Philippians 2:6-11

Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! 9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledges that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

7. Father, I pray that you will favor me and lift me up just like you did to king Saul. Lord, give me an elevated  position which I least expect in Jesus’ name.

1 Samuel 10:1-4

Then Samuel took a flask of oil and poured it on his head and kissed him and said, “Has not the Lord anointed you to be prince over his people Israel? And you shall reign over the people of the Lord and you will save them from the hand of their surrounding enemies. And this shall be the sign to you that the Lord has anointed you to be prince over his heritage. 2 When you depart from me today, you will meet two men by Rachel’s tomb in the territory of Benjamin at Zelzah, and they will say to you, ‘The donkeys that you went to seek are found, and now your father has ceased to care about the donkeys and is anxious about you, saying, “What shall I do about my son?”’

3 Then you shall go on from there farther and come to the oak of Tabor. Three men going up to God at Bethel will meet you there, one carrying three young goats, another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a skin of wine. 4 And they will greet you and give you two loaves of bread, which you shall accept from their hand.

8. Father, I pray that you will anoint me and enthrone me just like you did to David. Lord, remember me even when I have been forgotten and forsaken in Jesus’ name.

1 Samuel 16:13

So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the LORD came powerfully upon David. Samuel then went to Ramah.

9. Father, I pray that you will lift me up. You are the God who removes kings and sets up kings, so lift me up in Jesus’ name. Lord, give me wisdom, knowledge and understanding that will take me to a height that I could not fathom.

Daniel 2:21

And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.

10. Father, I pray for the grace to be humble. I pray that as I humble myself you will lift me up in Jesus’ name.

Luke 14:11

For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.
