Pray That Your Faith Will Rest On God’s Power

Pray That Your Faith Will Rest On God’s Power

Today, we will pray that our faith will rest on God’s power. God is so powerful that He created and named all the stars. The scripture says, “Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; His understanding is beyond measure.” (Psalm 147:5). God has in His hands, power and might so that no one is able to withstand Him (2 Chronicles 20:6). God wants us to know His power and He also wants us to be partakers of His power. Your faith can only move mountains if your faith rests on God’s power because we can only do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

We can only preach the gospel by the power of God. Romans 1:16 says, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” When we preach the gospel, the sinners can never be saved without the power of God. That power is in the Holy Spirit which the scriptures say will convict the world of their sins. It was that power that invited thousands of souls on the day of Pentecost who later gave their lives to Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 1:18 says, “For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” So, it is the power of God that gives us salvation.

Sources of God’s Power

You can not give what you don’t have. So, that means that God must be very powerful for Him to give us power. 2 Timothy 1:7 says “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” This scriptures says that the Spirit which God gave us does not make us timid. That Spirit gives us power, love and self-discipline. This shows us that one of the ways we can have an access to the power of God is through His Spirit. Any time you pray in tongues, you are generating God’s power. Psalm 42:7 says “Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls…” When you pray in tongues you are accessing the deep things of God. As a response, there will be more revelation into God’s Word, and God will reveal great and mighty things to you.

Another way to access the power of God is by waiting upon God in through fasting and prayer. A prayer-less Christian will be powerless. Also, if you can not fast, you will not move fast in the things of God. There are some things you will not be able to achieve without fasting and prayer. Jesus told His disciples that they can not perform some miracles except by fasting and prayer.

Isaiah 40:28-31 says;

“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

Do you want to renew your strength or increase in the power of God? If yes, you need to learn how to constantly wait upon God. As we pray today, I pray that your faith will rest on God’s power in Jesus’ name.
