Thank God For Baptism Of The Holy Spirit and Power

Thank God For Baptizing You With The Holy Spirit and Power

Today, we will thank God for baptizing us with the Holy Spirit and power. The church would have not been able to achieve much in terms of evangelizing the world for Christ, if not for the Holy Spirit. Jesus said that one of the duties of the Holy Spirit is to convict the world in respect of sins, and of righteousness and of judgment (John 16:8). A sinner can never realize his sins if the Holy Spirit has not convicted him. So we need to always thank God for baptizing us with the Holy Spirit.

Jesus also promised us power after the Holy Spirit came upon us. The power is meant for witnessing Christ. Jesus told the disciples that when they receive the power, they will be His witness in Jerusalem, in Judea, in Samaria and the uttermost part of the world. We need to thank God for baptizing us with the Holy Spirit and power because without Him, we will not be able to witness.

Thank God For The Baptism of The Holy Spirit

Another reason why we need to thank God is because God has sent the Holy Spirit to us to be our helper. Without the Holy Spirit, we would have been helpless. The Holy Spirit opens our eyes to know the truth and to see the light of the gospel. Many of us would have still been in darkness today if not for the Holy Spirit. So, we need to thank God for baptizing us with the Holy Spirit and power.

Moreover, we need to thank God because without the Holy Spirit, we can not enter the kingdom of God. We need to be born of the Spirit if we are going to enter the kingdom of God. This race set ahead of us would have been an impossible mission if not for the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit helps us to start the race, the Holy Spirit keeps us in the race and also empowers us to finish the race. We therefore need to thank God for baptizing us with the Holy Spirit and power.

When we pray in the Holy Spirit, He builds us up and increases our faith (Jude 1:20). We need to thank God for this because He is ever faithful to His promises. He promised us that He will pour His Spirit upon all flesh and He fulfilled that promise. Therefore, let us lift up our voices today and thank God for baptizing us with the Holy Spirit and power.

Good day, how does Christ baptize us with fire as read in Lk3:16?

    • James Kayode Olusoji says:

Hello, the fire is not a physical fire but an internal fire that keeps us burning for Christ. The fires purifies us from all forms of impurities and helps us to witness Christ. The fire represents the presence of God in your life just like the fire that Moses saw in the wilderness in his experience of the burning bush. You receive this fire after receiving the Holy Spirit. It is a spiritual experience that keeps you burning for Christ and having the willingness and desire to witness the gospel to all souls.

    • James Kayode Olusoji says:

Also take note that the fire can come directly from God when you pray to Him for the baptism of fire or it can come through the laying of hands by a man of God or by someone who has the fire already.
