Pray that God will fight your battles for you

Night of Divine Encounter (NODE) 3rd Edition, Day 5 - Pray that God will fight your battles for you - September 1st, 2021. Theme: The Book of Remembrance

How we fight our battles

We don’t fight our battles with carnal weapons, because the spiritual controls the physical. The way we fight our battles and subdue mountains  as Christians is not by power nor by might but by the Spirit of the Lord. We don’t open gates with natural keys but with spiritual keys.

We fight our battles through prayer

As Christians, we can fight our battles and open gates through prayer just like the Church prayed for Peter and the prison door was opened. God sent His angel and brought Peter out simply because the believers prayed.

We fight our battles through praise

There are some gates and everlasting doors that only the King of glory can open. As Chrsitians, we can fight our battle and open doors through praise. Paul and Silas in the prison praised God and the gates were opened. It was God Himself who opened the doors. The King of glory  inhabited their praises and the prison doors flung open, their chains were broken and they were set free.

We fight by the Word of God

The Word of God is a major weapon in fighting our battles. When Satan came to tempt Jesus, Satan was defeated by the Word of God. Hosea 4:6 says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” Your knowledge of the Word of God is a great weapon in fighting battles.

We fight our battles by the words of our testimony

Our testimonies are great weapons in fighting our battles. When David faced Goliath, he fought him by sharing his testimonies. He said that he had killed a lion and the bear in the past  and he will treat Goliath like one of those animals. That was exactly what he did. Revelation 12:11 says, “And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.” So, the devil cannot withstand your testimony.

We fight our battles by the blood of the lamb

According to Revelation 12:11, the blood of the lamb is a potent weapon in fighting our battles. Jesus is that lamb that was slain from the foundation of the world. Revelation 5:12, “Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.” The Israelites in the land of Goshen were saved by the blood of the lamb. The angel of destruction did not harm them because of the blood. All the firstborn of the Egyptians died, but the Israelites were spared (Exodus 11).

We are going to pray today and fight our battles not with carnal weapons, but with these spiritual weapons. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God (2 Corinthians 10:4-5)

Prayer Points

  1. Father, I thank you because you are my refuge and strength. You are a very present help in trouble. Thank you for always fighting my battles for me. Worship God because He is a man of war and a mighty God in battle. In Jesus’ name we pray.

2 Chronicles 20:20-21 (NIV)

20 Early in the morning they left for the Desert of Tekoa. As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, Judah and the people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful.”

21 After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: “Give thanks to the Lord, for his love endures forever.”

2. Father, I pray that you will command the host of heavens to fight my battles for me. Open my eyes Lord, let me see the horses and the chariots of fire that you have sent to watch over me. Take away the spirit of fear and give me a sound mind. In Jesus’ name I have prayed

2 Kings 6:15-17 (NIV)

15 When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked.

16 “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”

17 And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

3. Lord, I pray that you will be a shield around me and my glory. Father, lift my head high and answer me from your holy mountain. Arise Lord, and deliver me from all enemies.  Give me a great deliverance and let your blessing be upon me. In Jesus’ name I pray

Psalm 3: 1-7 (NIV)

Lord, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me!  2 Many are saying of me, “God will not deliver him.” 3 But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. 4 I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain.

5 I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me. 6 I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side. 7 Arise, Lord! Deliver me, my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw, break the teeth of the wicked. From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people.

4. Lord, fight all my battles for me. Your Word says, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” So, I pray that you will continually fight all my battles for me in Jesus’ name.

Romans 8:31

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Romans 8:35-39

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

5. Lord, give me victory over the flesh and over sin. I throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. With perseverance, I run the race marked out for me and I receive the grace to finish strong. In Jesus’ name I pray.

Hebrews 12:1

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

6. Lord, fight my battles for me and give me victory over my enemies. When the enemies come against me in one way, let them flee in seven ways in Jesus’ name.

Deuteronomy 3:12

Do not be afraid of them; the Lord your God himself will fight for you.

Deuteronomy 28:7

The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.

7. Father, I pray that you will constantly go with me to fight against my enemies. You promised never to leave me nor forsake me. Lord, constantly fight for me. In Jesus’ name I pray

Deuteronomy 20:4

For the Lord your God is the One who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory

8. Father, I pray that those who fight against me will not overcome me. You will be with me and rescue me according to your Word. In Jesus’ name I pray

Jeremiah 1:19

“They will fight against you, but will not overcome you for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.”

9. Lord, I know that the weapons I fight with are not carnal but mighty through God. So, I pull down all strongholds, I cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. I bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. In Jesus’ name I pray

2 Corinthians 10:4-5

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;

5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

10. Lord, I cover myself and my family members with the blood of Jesus. I cover everyone and everything that belongs to me with the blood of Jesus. Father, I pray that no weapon fashion against me shall prosper and I condemn every tongue that rise up in judgment against me in Jesus’ name

Revelation 12:11

“And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.”

Isaiah 54:17

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD
