Praying For The Expansion of God’s Kingdom

Today, we are going to be praying for the expansion of God’s kingdom. What is a kingdom? A kingdom is a country, state, or territory ruled by a king or queen. What is God’s kingdom? The Kingdom of God, also described as the kingdom of Heaven, is the spiritual realm over which God reigns as King, or the fulfillment of God’s will on earth.

God’s plan is for the earth to be an extension of God’s kingdom. He created man in His image to be His ambassador on earth. God put us in charge of earth so that we can rule and govern the earth the same way He would have governed it. He will visit the earth to check and to see if man is still dominating  the earth and ruling it according to the masterplan. God made heaven His throne and He made the earth His footstool. Meanwhile, Satan introduced sin into the world and he cunningly took over the dominion of earth from man. However, the plan of God is to recover the earth back through the believers.

The Expansion of God’s Kingdom on Earth is Believer’s Duty

Ultimately, the kingdom of this world will become the kingdom of our God. We need to constantly pray as believers until the kingdom of this world becomes the kingdom of our God. Although darkness covers the earth and gross darkness covers the people, God wants to shine His light all over the world until darkness completely disappears (Revelation 11:15; Exodus 15:18).

The Prophets Prophesied About The Expansion of God’s Kingdom

Prophet Isaiah prophesied that the government shall be upon Jesus’ shoulder and of the increase of His kingdom, there shall be no end (Isaiah 9:6-7). Daniel also prophesied about the expansion of God’s kingdom. Daniel 7:14 says, “He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.” John the Baptist also preached repentance saying, “the kingdom of God is at hand” (Matthew 3:1-2)

Jesus Preached About God’s Kingdom

Jesus constantly preached about God’s kingdom. He instructed His disciples to preach about the kingdom of God. Jesus taught about God’s kingdom even after His resurrection. While on earth, He spoke so many parables about God’s kingdom (Matthew 13:31-32; Mark 4:30-32; Matthew 13:33; Luke 13:20-21). Jesus’ disciples followed His footsteps by preaching about God’s kingdom. Apostle Paul said, the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power (1 Corinthians 4:20). He also said that the kingdom of God is not about feasting but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17). If Jesus Christ preached about God’s kingdom, we need to constantly preach about the expansion of God’s kingdom.

We must constantly pray for God’s kingdom on earth

The Prophets prophesied about God’s kingdom and Jesus preached about it. This shows how important the subject is to God. Jesus admonished us to pray for God’s kingdom and this should be the pattern of our prayer. After acknowledging God as your Father, you need to hallow His name. Thereafter, we must pray for the expansion of God’s kingdom on earth.

Prayer Points:

  1. Father, we praise you and hallow your name and we pray for the expansion of your kingdom on earth.

Matthew 6:9-10

“This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

2. Father, we pray that the kingdom of the world will become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Messiah.

Revelation 11:15

The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.”

3. Father, we pray that the Lord will reign in the nations of the world forever and ever in Jesus’ name

Exodus 15:18

“The Lord shall reign forever and ever.”

4. Father, we pray for the increase of your government in all the nations of the earth in Jesus’ name

Isaiah 9:6-7

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given,  and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

7 Of the greatness of his government and peace  there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this

5. Father, I pray that all the nations and peoples of every language will worship you. Lord I pray that every tongue will acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord. Father, I pray that your dominion will be an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and your kingdom will never be destroyed

Daniel 7:13-14

“In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of

Days and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.

6. Father, I pray that the nations of the earth will come into repentance and submit to Christ in Jesus’ name

Matthew 3:1-2

Now in those days John the Baptist *came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

7. Father, I pray that you will raise an army of believers that will go all over the world proclaiming the message of God’s kingdom

Luke 8:1

Soon afterwards, He began going around from one city and village to another, proclaiming and preaching the kingdom of God. The twelve were with Him

8. Father, I pray that you will create an unquenchable passion in all believers to spread the message of God’s kingdom

Matthew 4:17

From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

9. Father, I pray that you will ignite the fire of revival in me and I will take the message of God’s kingdom to every nook and cranny of the earth

Matthew 9:35

Jesus was going through all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.

10. Father, I pray for the grace to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Lord, I pray that as I seek God’s kingdom, you will add other things to me as you promised in your Word in Jesus’ name

Matthew 6:33

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

11. Father, I pray that I will be violent enough to take the kingdom of heaven

Matthew 11:12

From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and violent men take it by force.

12. Father, I pray all the people living in Canada will here the message of God’s kingdom and know that the kingdom of heaven is at hand

Matthew 10:7

And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’

13. Father, I pray the zeal of your house will consume me and I will not rest on my oars until the whole world hear the message of God’s kingdom

Luke 4:43

But He said to them, “I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, for I was sent for this purpose.”

14. Father, I pray against everything that is hindering the believers from preaching the message of God’s kingdom

Luke 9:2

And He sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to perform healing.

15. Father, I pray that I will begin to operate in the realm of the supernatural and as the people receive their healings, they will receive the message of God’s kingdom

Luke 10:9

and heal those in it who are sick, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.

16. Father, I pray that all believers will imitate Jesus and begin to spread the message of God’s kingdom with convincing proofs

Acts 1:3

To these He also presented Himself alive after His suffering, by many convincing proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days and speaking of the things concerning the kingdom of God.

17. Father, I pray that as I spread the message of the kingdom like a mustard seed, it will begin to grow in the heart of men and in the nations of the world in Jesus’ name

Matthew 13:31-32

He presented another parable to them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field; and this is smaller than all other seeds, but when it is full grown, it is larger than the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.”

Mark 4:30-32

And He said, “How shall we picture the kingdom of God, or by what parable shall we present it? It is like a mustard seed, which, when sown upon the soil, though it is smaller than all the seeds that are upon the soil, yet when it is sown, it grows up and becomes larger than all the garden plants and forms large branches; so that the birds of the air can nest under its shade.”

18. Father, I pray that the message of God’s kingdom will begin to spread like leaven in Jesus’ name

Matthew 13:33

He spoke another parable to them, “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three pecks of flour until it was all leavened.”

Luke 13:20-21

And again He said, “To what shall I compare the kingdom of God? It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three pecks of flour until it was all leavened.”

19. Father, I pray for the grace to preach the message of God’s kingdom boldly in Jesus’ name

Acts 19:8

And he entered the synagogue and continued speaking out boldly for three months, reasoning and persuading them about the kingdom of God.

20. Father, I pray for the grace to constantly testify about your kingdom. Lord, I pray that as I testify about your kingdom, you will add large number of souls to the Church in Jesus’ name.

Acts 28:23

When they had set a day for Paul, they came to him at his lodging in large numbers; and he was explaining to them by solemnly testifying about the kingdom of God and trying to persuade them concerning Jesus, from both the Law of Moses and from the Prophets, from morning until evening.

21. Father, I pray for the grace to preach about your kingdom and teach concerning the Lord Jesus Christ will all openness in Jesus’ name

Acts 28:31

preaching the kingdom of God and teaching concerning the Lord Jesus Christ with all openness, unhindered.

22. Father, I pray that as I preach about God’s kingdom, millions of souls shall be added to the Church in Jesus’ name

Acts 8:12

But when they believed Philip preaching the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were being baptized, men and women alike.

23. Father, I pray that your power will be demonstrated through me, anytime I preach about the message of the kingdom in Jesus’ name

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.

24. Father, I pray that I will experience righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit as I plugged into your kingdom in Jesus’ name

26. Father, I pray that I will be enlisted among the army of the kingdom who will  spread the message of the kingdom to all the nations of the earth in Jesus’ name

Matthew 24:14

This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.
