Praying That The Siege Will Be over
Night of Divine Encounter (NODE) 5th Edition, Day 7 - Praying That The Siege Will Be Over- Join us on Friday, November 5th, 2021 for the Night of Divine Encounter between 7pm to 10pm MST. Theme: The Siege Is Over
The Siege Is over
What is a siege? A siege is a military operation in which the enemy forces surround a town or building, cutting off essential supplies, with the aim of compelling the surrender of those inside. It is an operation in which a police or other force surrounds a building and cuts off supplies, with the aim of forcing an armed person to surrender. A siege can also be defined as a prolonged period of misfortune.
The Israelites were under the siege of the Assyrians army for so long that there was a great famine in the land. I could see different forms of siege here in Samaria. The country was under an economic siege because they could not trade with the neighboring nations. Several families must have been under a financial siege because some have started eating their children. Some might be under marital siege especially if they were supposed to marry outside the town because they couldn’t go in and out. In any case, God can deliver from all forms of siege.
Types of Siege
Mental
There can be a mental siege, a situation where someone is mentally incapacitated. Some people study the scripture and yet you don’t understand like the Ethiopian Eunuch whom Phillip educated. Nichodemus, a ruler of the Jews knew about Jesus, but he did not have a perfect understanding on what it means to be born again. When you read but don’t understand it could be a form of mental siege. If your children are not performing well in their academics, it could be a form of mental siege..
Spiritual
You can also be under a spiritual siege. The unbelievers whom Satan has blinded their hearts so that the message of the gospel will not penetrate is a form of siege from the devil. 2 Corinthians 4:4 says, “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”
Financial
If you are working so much yet you are not rewarded at all or getting a little reward, you might be under a form of financial siege. You are spending all that you have, yet nothing is coming in. Joseph was working so much under Potiphar yet without pay. He was made the head of the prisoner in the prison, yet no reward. But one day, the siege was over. Jacob worked under Laban for twenty years. Out of the twenty years, fourteen years were without remuneration. However, God put an end to the siege and blessed him so much in the last six years that the sons of Laban were envying him saying he had taken away all their father’s wealth.
As you pray today, the siege will be over in every area of your life in Jesus’ name.
Prayer Points About The Siege
- Thank God who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession. Bless God for He uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.
2 Corinthians 2:14
But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.
2. Are you trusting God for the fruits of the womb? Pray that the Lord will deliver you from marital siege. Pray that He will put an end to every form of unfruitfulness in Jesus’ name
Genesis 21:1-2
Now the LORD was gracious to Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did for Sarah what he had promised. Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised him.
3. Pray that God will deliver you from every form of spiritual siege. Pray for all your friends and loved ones who are yet to know Christ. Tell God to to deliver them from every form of spiritual siege
2 Corinthians 4:4
“The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”
4. Pray that God will speak His Word into your business. Pray that He will deliver your business from every form of siege in Jesus’ name.
Luke 5:4-6
4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” 5 Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.” 6 When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break.
5. Pray that just like God put an end to every form of siege in Joseph’s life; He will put an end to siege today in your life. Pray that God will take you out of the dungeon and set you in the palace.
Genesis 41:37-44
37 This proposal pleased Pharaoh and all his servants. 38 And Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find a man like this, in whom is the Spirit of God?” 39 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has shown you all this, there is none so discerning and wise as you are. 40 You shall be over my house, and all my people shall order themselves as you command. Only as regards the throne will I be greater than you.” 41 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.” 42 Then Pharaoh took his signet ring from his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand, and clothed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold
chain about his neck. 43 And he made him ride in his second chariot. And they called out before him, “Bow the knee!” Thus he set him over all the land of Egypt. 44 Moreover, Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, and without your consent no one shall lift up hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.”
