Praying Against Stagnancy in The Ministry

Today, we will be praying against stagnancy in the ministry. The will of God for us is to prosper in all ramifications. If your prayer life is not improving it is a form of stagnancy. If you are not winning souls for Jesus, it is a form of stagnancy. Peradventure, you are not studying the Word of God, talkless of receiving new revelation from God’s Word, that is a form of stagnancy. If you have a stunted spiritual growth that is a form of stagnancy. Have you been born again for several years, yet there is no significant improvement in your relationship with God? That means you are stagnant.

God has an assignment for each and everyone of us. He wants us to prosper so much in ministry and do great exploits for Him. The reason why God has kept you alive after your salvation is to fulfill your purpose. One of the mandates that Jesus gave all Christians is soul winning and making disciples for Him. You should examine whatever you are doing as a Christian, that does not result in salvation of souls. Have you ever raised disciples for Jesus through your ministry? If the answer is no, that might mean that your labor in ministry is unproductive. Jesus gave us the mandate to make disciples for Him in all nations. Today, we will be praying against stagnancy in the ministry.

Burying Your Talent Is A Sign Of Stagnancy In Ministry

This reminds me of the parable of talents. Three people were given talents. One was given five talents, another two and the last one. The servant with the five talents traded with his talents and gained five more. The servant with two talents traded with his talents and gained two more. However, the servant with one talent buried his talent. There was no productivity. Many are like that in ministry. Some are being productive while some are stagnant. God frowns at stagnancy. That is why the unproductive servant was severely punished. I pray that you will not be stagnant in your ministry in Jesus’ name.

Jesus Rebuked The Unproductive Fig Tree

This also reminds me of the fig tree which Jesus rebuked. The fig tree was cumbering the ground for nothing yet without productivity. There was a form of deception in the ministry of the fig tree. Those who saw how green the leaves are must have thought that the tree was productive. However, there was a form of stagnation because there was no fruit. Jesus was angry at the fig tree, so, He rebuked it and the tree dried up. Today, God still frowns at lack of productivity in  ministry. It is not the will of God for your ministry to be stagnant. Yes, there will be a time to build capacity and derive nutrients as a tree. However, at the appointed time, you are supposed to bear fruits.

The Bible likened a blessed man to a tree that is planted by the riverside that brings forth its fruits in season. May you be productive in ministry and may you bring forth your fruits in season in Jesus’ name.

Prayer Points

  1. Father, I give thanks to you with all my heart. Lord, I thank you for all your wonderful deeds in my life. Thank you Lord for delivering my ministry from stagnancy

Psalm 9:1

I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.

2. Father, I pray that the ministry you have committed into my hands will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, which yields its fruit in season. Lord, I pray that you will prosper me in ministry in Jesus’ name

Psalm 1:1-3

Blessed is the one  who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, 2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. 3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.

3. Father, I pray that I will cumber the ground for nothing but instead, my ministry will be highly fruitful and productive in Jesus’ name

Matthew 21:19

Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, “May you never bear fruit again!” Immediately the tree withered.

4. Father, I pray that the Holy Spirit will take charge of my ministry and thousands of souls will be added to the Church through me in Jesus’ name

Acts 2:40-41

With many other words he testified, and he urged them, “Be saved from this corrupt generation.”  Those who embraced his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to the believers that day.

5. Father, I pray that I will bear fruits in my ministry in season and out of season in Jesus’ name. Lord. I pray that persecution will fan the flame of revival in my life and it will not quench it in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that millions of souls will be added to the Church through my ministry in Jesus’ name. I come against stagnancy in my ministry in Jesus’ name.

Acts 4:4-5

They seized Peter and John, and because it was evening, they put them in custody until the next day. But many who heard the message believed, and the number of men grew to about five thousand.

6. Father, I pray that more believers will be brought to the Lord through my ministry in Jesus’ name. Lord, let there be great miracles, signs and wonders through my ministry in Jesus’ name

Acts 5:13-15

Although the people regarded them highly, no one else dared to join them. 14 Yet more and more believers were brought to the Lord—large numbers of both men and women. 15 As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on cots and mats, so that at least Peter’s shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by.

7. Father, I pray for the grace to be a great soul winner in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will give me passion for souls and remove stagnancy from my ministry in Jesus’ name

Proverbs 11:30

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And he who wins souls is wise

8. Father, I pray for the Spirit of wisdom to carry out the assignment that you have committed into my hands. Lord, I pray for the grace to continually lead people to righteousness. As I do so, I pray that I will shine like the stars forever and ever in Jesus’ name

Daniel 12:3

Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.

9. Father, I pray that I will continually produce lasting fruit in Jesus’ name. Lord, you said in your Word that you will give me whatever I asked for in your name. Father, anoint me greatly for a productive ministry and put an end to stagnancy in my ministry in Jesus’ name

John 15:16

You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.

10. Father, I pray that your Word in my mouth will start producing outstanding results. Lord, I pray that the hearts of me will burn as they listen to your Word through me and they will experience a great revival. Father, deliver my ministry from stagnancy

Luke 24:31-32

Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Jesus—and He disappeared from their sight. They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us as He spoke with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”

11. Father, I pray that I will know you and the power of Jesus’ resurrection, being made conformable to His death. I pray that as I press towards the mark, I will attain a greater height in you Lord in Jesus’ name. Deliver me Lord from stagnancy in ministry.

Philippians 3:10-14

That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; 11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. 12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

12. Father, I pray that I shall be strong and do great exploits in ministry. Lord, I pray for the grace to increase in knowledge and to do mighty exploits in Jesus’ name

Daniel 11:32

And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
