Praying Against Stagnancy in Your Marriage
Today, we will be praying against stagnancy in marriage. It is not the will of God for us to be stagnant in our marriage. The first institution which the Lord blessed is marriage. This means that God expects our marriages to be blessed. God wants us to be fruitful and multiply and also replenish the earth. It means that it is not just that we should be fruitful, but He wants us to experience an exponential increase. God also wants us to subdue the earth. This shows that God detest stagnancy in marriage.
Childlessness is a form of stagnancy in marriage. God expects us to be fruitful and replenish the earth. When Abraham and Sarah had no child, it was a form of stagnancy. However, God stepped in and gave them a child even in their old age. God stepped in when they had lost hope and when they did not even know that it was possible for them to have a child due to their age and physical conditions. God put an end to the stagnancy in their marriage. I pray that even if you have lost hope in your marriage, God will step in right now in Jesus’ name. I pray that the Lord will deliver you from barrenness in Jesus’ name.
God Expect Our Marriage To Be Fruitful
We have several women that experience stagnancy in their marriage due to a delay in child bearing. Rebekah was also barren for several years but God answered her at the end of the day. When she was going to conceive, God told her that the babies in her womb were not just two children, but they were two nations. What is a nation? A nation is a territory where all the people are led by the same government. The word “nation” can also refer to a group of people who share a history, traditions, culture and, often, language, even if the group does not have a country of its own. So, what God gave Rebekah were nations.
If you are single and of a marriageable age, it is also a form of stagnancy. When Adam was single, God said it is not good for a man to be alone. God decided to give him help that is suitable for him. If you are currently stagnant in this area and you have been calling upon God for years, I pray that God will answer you today in Jesus’ name.
God Rolled Away Ruth and Naomi’s Reproach
What about Ruth and Naomi? The situation of Ruth looked hopeless. She lost her husband and she had no child for the husband. Naomi, who was Ruth’s mother-in-law, lost her two sons and they were both childless before their demise. That is a form of stagnancy. It was a great reproach for both Ruth and Naomi. Ruth, a Moabite, decided to follow her mother-in-law back home despite the fact that she had no child. However, God brought a great restoration back to Ruth and Naomi. Ruth eventually got married to Boaz who was the great grandfather of David. Ruth became one of the great matriarchs of Jesus’ Christ. God has a way of stopping stagnancy in your marriage if you can just put your trust in him.
Another form of stagnancy that we can have in marriage is financial stagnancy. When the finances in a family are stagnant it can affect the marriage. There was a widow in the scripture who lost her husband and they had a financial hardship because her husband was in debt. The creditors were about to take her children away due to their indebtedness before she cried to Elisha, the man of God. Elisha prophesied on the jar of oil that the woman had and there was a transformation in that family. God blessed the woman through the jar of oil, she paid her debt and saved her children from being taken away. God can still save your marriage from financial stagnancy.
