Pray For The Grace To Walk In Dominion Over Flesh

Night of Divine Encounter (NODE) 4th Edition, Day 4- Pray for The Grace To Walk In Dominion Over Flesh - September 28th, 2021. Theme: Walking In Dominion

Walking In Dominion Over Flesh

We all need the grace to walk in dominion over flesh. The major oppositions to a godly Christian living are lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and pride of life. If we can overcome these main constraints as Christians we will live a victorious life. The flesh is always doing what is contrary to the will of God. The way to live a victorious life is to crucify the flesh.

Ishmael and Isaac can never cohabit. One has to leave for the other. Just like father Abraham did, we have to send Ishmael away. Jacob and Esau can not stay together, there will be a constant war among them. The best way to have dominion over the flesh is to destroy every work of the flesh.  However, you cannot destroy the work of the flesh by your own power. Our victory over the flesh is actually in Christ.

Apostle Paul summarized this in Romans 12:1-2, when he said, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.” Our victory of the flesh is derived through Christ Jesus. So, let us begin to walk in this victory over the flesh as we pray these prayers.

Prayer Points

  1. Let us thank God for giving us victory over the flesh through Jesus Christ our Lord.
  2. Pray against every spirit of condemnation because you are now in Christ Jesus. In Jesus’ name we pray. Declare your freedom from the law of sin and death and pray for the Spirit who gives life through Christ Jesus

Romans 8:1-3

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.

3 For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering.  And so he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”

3. Father, I pray that you will give me the mind of Christ. Your Word says, “He who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he should no longer live the rest of his time in the flesh.” I pray that I will not live the rest of my life in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God. In Jesus’ name we pray

1 Peter 4:1-2

“Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.”

4. Father, I pray that from now on, I will no longer be a debtor to the flesh to live according to the flesh. By the Spirit, I put to death the deeds of the body so that I will live. In Jesus’ name we pray

Romans 8:12-13

“Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.”

5. Father, I pray that my mind will not be set on the flesh but it will constantly submit to God’s law. I pray for the grace to constantly please you. In Jesus’ name I pray

Romans 8:7-8

For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

6. Father, I pray for the grace to constantly walk by the Spirit so that I will not gratify the desires of the flesh. In Jesus’ name I pray.

Galatians 5:16

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

7. Lord, I pray that I will not live according to the flesh. I pray that I will not set my minds on the things of the flesh and I receive the grace to live according to the Spirit and to set my minds on the things of the Spirit. I rebuke every spirit of death and I embrace life and peace. In Jesus’ name I pray

Romans 8:5-6

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.

8. Lord, I pray against every desire of the flesh, the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions. I pray that my desire will constantly be for you. In Jesus’ name I pray.

1 John 2:16

For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world.

9. I put to death what is earthly in me. I come against the spirit of sexual immorality, impurity, evil desire and covetousness. In Jesus’ name I pray.

Colossians 3:5

Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

10. Father, I pray that since I have been crucified with Christ, I will no longer live for the flesh. I pray that since Christ is now living in me, the life  I now live in the flesh will be by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. In Jesus’ name I pray

Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

11. Father, I pray that I will not follow the desires of the flesh but the desires of the Spirit. I pray that I will only do things that please God. In Jesus’ name I pray

Galatians 5:17

For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.

12. I crucified the flesh with its passions and desires in Jesus’ name

Galatians 5:24

And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

13. I am born of the Spirit and I am not born of the flesh. So, sin will no longer have dominion over me. In Jesus’ name I pray

John 3:6

“That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”

14. Father, I receive the grace to always watch and pray so that I will not fall into temptation. I pray that my spirit man will be energized and the flesh will not be able to dominate me in the place of prayer. In Jesus’ name I pray

Matthew 26:41

“Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

15. Father, I pray for the grace to constantly control my eyes. My eyes will not cause me to sin against God. In Jesus’ name I pray

Matthew 5:28

“But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”

16. Father, I pray that I will not make provision for the flesh to gratify its desires. In Jesus’ name I pray

Romans 13:14

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.

17. Father, I pray that I will no longer follow the desire of the flesh but I will always do what pleases you. In Jesus’ name I pray

Romans 7:18

For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out.
