Pray That You Will Know The Truth Of God’s Word
Today, we will be praying that we will know the truth of God’s Word and the truth will set us free. It is very important to know the truth. The truth is actually the Word of God and the Word of God is Jesus Christ. The reason why men fell in the garden of Eden was due to a lie from the devil. Anytime one believes a lie and acts on a lie, it will eventually lead to that person’s downfall. That is why we need to always believe in the truth.
Without knowing the truth, you will live in bondage. It is the truth that you know that has the capacity to set you free. No wonder, Hosea 4: 6 says, “My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. “Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.” This shows that lack of knowledge of the truth can be destructive. People can perish for the lack of knowledge of the truth. This is why this matter needs to be taken seriously. Many are under the bondage of sickness today because they don’t know the truth about healing. Many others are under the bondage of sin because they don’t know the truth about salvation. Knowledge is power.
Jesus Is The Truth And He Preached The Truth
While Jesus Christ was on earth, He engaged in teaching His disciples because they needed to know the truth. The disciples were under His tutelage for about three and half years. He educated them on so many subject matter in the scriptures. He clarified what the law was saying and elucidated the gray areas. That gave them stability when they eventually started their ministry after the encounter on the day of Pentecost. He also gave them the Holy Spirit to continue the teaching where He stopped. When Satan came to tempt Jesus, Jesus defeated him by the knowledge of the truth. Satan was even quoting the scriptures but he was wrongly dividing the Word of truth. If you don’t know the truth, the devil will confuse you and you will easily stumble.
The truth is one of the weapons of our warfare. Ephesians 6:14 says, “Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place.” This means that you can not fight your battle as a Christian without the knowledge of the truth. You need the Sword of the Spirit and you need the Shield of faith. The bedrock of these two weapons is the Word of God which is the truth. The sword of the Spirit is the Word of God which is the truth. The shield of faith is also based on the Word of God because faith comes by hearing the Word of God.
Moreover, the belt of truth is what holds other weapons that you fight with firmly. This shows us the importance of knowing the truth. As we pray today, I pray that we shall know the truth of the Word of God and the truth shall set us free in Jesus’ name.
Prayer Points
- Father, I pray that we will know the truth and the truth will set us free. Lord, we pray that all those that are still wallowing in sin will have an encounter with the truth in Jesus’ name
1 John 1:8
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
2. Father, I pray that you will give me the grace to love not only with actions but in truth. Lord, we pray that you will open our eyes to see the true love of God in Jesus’ name
1 John 3:18
Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
3. Father, I pray that the Spirit of truth will reveal the truth to us in Jesus’ name. Lord, we pray that you will deliver us from the spirit of falsehood in Jesus’ name
1 John 4:6
We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.
4. Father, I pray for the grace to preach the truth of the Word of God. Lord, I pray that you will reveal the truth of your Word to us in Jesus’ name
1 Kings 17:24
Then the woman said to Elijah, “Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the LORD from your mouth is the truth.”
5. Father, I pray that you will give us the grace to present ourselves to God as one approved. Lord, I pray that you will give us the grace not to be ashamed of correctly handling the Word of truth in Jesus’ name
2 Timothy 2:15
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
6. Father, I pray for the grace to stand firm with the belt of truth buckled around my waist. Lord, I pray for the grace to constantly take up my breastplate of righteousness and to live by the truth of the Word of God.
Ephesians 6:14
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place
7. Father, I pray that the whole world will experience recreation by the Word of truth so that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all He created
James 1:18
He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.
8. Father, I pray that you will reveal Jesus to the whole world and let everyone embrace the gospel of truth. I pray that you will show us the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth
John 1:14
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
9. Father, I pray that you will reveal to me your grace and truth which came through Jesus’ Christ. Lord, I pray that you will deliver the whole world from the lies that Satan is peddling around the world. Father, let the truth of your Word expose these lies
James 1:17
For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
10. Father, I pray that you will give us the grace to worship you in Spirit and in truth in Jesus’ name
John 4:24
God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
11. Father, I pray that you will release your grace upon me to know the truth and let the truth set me free in Jesus’ name
John 8:32
Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
12. Father, I pray that you will show the whole world the way, the truth and life. Father, I pray that the whole world will come to the realization that no one can come to you except through Jesus Christ.
John 14:6
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
