Thank God For Being A Present Help In Trouble
Thank God For Being A Present Help In Trouble
Today, we will be thanking God, for He is a very present help in trouble? Trouble means anxiety, concern, danger or difficulty. It means to agitate, or to cause one inward commotion. Trouble also means to disquiet or to make restless. When God said that He is a very present help in trouble, it means He is the only one who can bring calmness to every storm. Psalm 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” A refuge is a condition of being safe or sheltered from pursuit, danger or trouble. When God is your refuge, He will surely deliver you from trouble.
There were so many people who experienced trouble in the bible. David faced immense trouble shortly after he was anointed as a replacement for king Saul. He killed Goliath, a feat which made some women praise him and gave him more credit than king Saul. This action infuriated king Saul and he pursued David for many years and he attempted to kill him several times. David began to run helter-skelter all over the place. On all occasions that Saul would have killed David, God rescued him.. Eventually, God enthroned David as king over the nation of Israel after the demise of king Saul. Whatever trouble you are facing right now, God will surely show up for you. He will rescue you and be your present help because God is a very present help in trouble.
God Is The Defender of The Defenceless
God is the helper of the helpless. He is the defender of the hopeless. When we abide under His shadow, He protects us. Whenever we call on Him, he answers. Psalm 120:1 (NIV) says, “I call on the Lord in my distress, and he answers me.” Today, we will have to thank God for all His beautiful promises. What can we do without His help? There is absolutely nothing. In Him we live, we move and have our being. Psalm 62:6 (NIV) says, “Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.” A fortress is a military fortified stronghold, especially a strongly fortified town fit for a large garrison. God always defends us in trouble.
Joseph went through a lot of trouble. He was sold into slavery at a tender age. The wife of his boss, Potiphar, lied against him for a sin he never committed. He was sentenced to prison despite the fact that he was not an offender. However, God remembered him and delivered him from all his trouble. In one day, he got the best job in the land of Egypt. If we reflect very well, we will realize that God has done similar things for us one time or the other. He rescued us from the pit and delivered us from the imprisonment of Satan. God has rescued us from destruction. He enthroned us and made us kings and priests unto Him. So, we need to thank him for He is our present help in trouble.
