Thank God For He Is Your Strength And Defence
Thank God For He Is Your Strength And Defence
Today, we will thank God because He is our strength and defence. Moses sang to God after that great deliverance from the Egyptian army. One of the phrases in the song says, “The Lord is my strength and my defence; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him. The Lord is a warrior; the Lord is his name” (Exodus 15:2-3). It is good to give thanks to God after a great victory. Most of the time, we don’t remember to return all the glory to God.
God has been faithful to us since the beginning of this year. If you are alive and well today, it is because of His grace. God is our refuge and strength. He is an ever-present help in times of need. We need to thank God for His help throughout this year. When you praise God for what He has done, He will do more for you. God appreciates grateful children. Also when you rejoice in God’s presence, He gives you strength. The scriptures say, “the joy of the Lord is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10).
God Is Your Strength And Defence
God is also the strength of our lives. Without His strength, we have no life. Isaiah 26 verse 4 also describes God as our everlasting strength. This shows that God is our strength as long as we live on earth and He will still be our strength when we get to heaven. He is our everlasting strength. We are powerless without God. No wonder, Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” If you have been able to do anything this year, the strength to do those things comes from God. Therefore, we need to thank God because He is our strength and defence.
Our God is a Mighty Warrior and He is great in battle. He is the one who is fighting all our battles for us. You can win all battles without fighting a single battle if you have God on your side. He is the one who has been fighting all our battles for us because He is our defence. Some trust in chariots and some others in horses, but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. How did the Israelites defeat the army of Pharaoh without arms and ammunition? God was the one who fought their battles for them and all they had to do was to be still and know that He is God. God has also been fighting all our battles for us this year so we need to give Him all the glory.
Let us lift up our voices in gratitude to God today because He is our strength and our defence.
