Thank God For The Grace To Be Fruitful And Multiply
Today, we will thank God for the grace to be fruitful and multiply. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty (Genesis 1:1). Darkness was over the surface of the deep. Then God started speaking to the void and formlessness. He called forth light out of darkness. It shows that in every darkness is hidden the light. You only need to call forth your light out of darkness. God started filling the emptiness. God commanded the land to produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds (Genesis 1:11). This was the first mention of fruit in the bible.
The process by which God filled the void on earth is by the power of fruit with seed in it. This fruit could be from the trees. Once there is seed in it, there will be fruitfulness and multiplication. The fruit might be an animal. Once there is seed in it, there will be fruitfulness and multiplication. Also, the fruit might be a man or a woman. God has given us seed that will enable us to be fruitful and multiply. That is why we have over eight billions on earth today, despite the fact that God just created just a male and a female.
God Created Them Male And Female
God is an awesome God. He did not create two males, because He knows that it is impossible for a male and male to be fruitful and multiply. If God had created just two males, the world would have been stagnant today. Also, God did not create two females in the beginning. If God had done so, it would not have been possible for two females to procreate. So, we can not be wiser than God by changing this natural law of nature. Although, the world is changing today with ignoble thoughts and with unthinkable laws. God is still wiser than men.
Law of Fruitfulness and Multiplication
This law of fruitfulness and multiplication is applicable to every area of our lives. If you are going to establish a business and choose business partners, you have to choose a business partner who has the strength where you have a weakness. Just like a man does not have the features of a woman and a man or a woman alone cannot bear a child, you need someone who can compliment you in your business for you to experience fruitfulness and multiplication. If you establish a business, you can not be the Chief Executive Officer, the legal adviser, the Chief financial Officer, the Chief Marketing Officer etc. For your business to be productive, you need to hire people with those skills set which you do not have.
God started this principle from the creation of the world. The man and the woman have something unique to contribute in a marriage for them to experience the multiplication and fruitfulness. For procreation, the woman gives the eggs while the man donates the sperm. Also, in raising up the children, the man and the woman both have unique roles to play. It is difficult for a man to play the role of a woman and so also it is difficult for a woman to play the role of a man. We need to thank God for this special grace that He has given us from the beginning. God expects us to be fruitful and multiply.
Fruitfulness Is Not Limited To Procreation Alone
The fruitfulness is not limited to procreation alone. Your brain is a form of a womb that can nurture ideas that can change the world. God created all the raw materials on earth and expected man to convert them to the finished products. God did not create the furniture, but He gave us wood. He also gave us the ability to turn the wood into various furniture. God did not give us petrol, diesel, asphalt and bitumen but He gave us crude oil and expected us to get the by-products from it. Also, God did not give us all the sky-scrappers, but He gave us all the raw materials to build them. So, you and I have the potential to be fruitful and multiply in all areas of our lives and we need to thank God for this.
Prayer Points
- Father, I thank you for giving me the grace to be fruitful and multiply. Thank you Lord for giving us vegetation and seed-bearing plants and trees.
Genesis 1:11
Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so.
2. Father, I thank you because my land is producing vegetation and fruit bearing seeds according to their kinds. Lord, I thank you for the grace to be fruitful and multiply
Genesis 1:12-13
The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day
3. Father, I thank you for giving us light. Thank you Lord for the sunshine and thank you for the rain. Lord, I thank you for the grace to be fruitful and multiply
Genesis 1:14-15
And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so.
4. Father, I thank you for creating the birds and all the creatures that live in the sea. Lord, I thank you for the grace to be fruitful and multiply
Genesis 1:20-22
And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.” 21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.”
Grace To Be Fruitful And Multiply
5. Father, I thank you for creating all the livestock and all the living creatures. Lord, I thank you for creating all the wild animals. Lord, I thank you for the grace to be fruitful and multiply.
Genesis 1:24-26
And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
6. Father, I thank you for creating us in your image. Lord, I thank you for giving us dominion over every other thing that you created. Lord, I thank you for the grace to be fruitful and multiply and to subdue the earth.
Genesis 1:26-28
Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” 27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. 28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
7. Father, I thank you for giving us another chance to be fruitful and multiply after you destroyed the earth by the flood. Lord, I am eternally grateful for your blessings.
Genesis 9:1
Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth.
