Praying Against Unfruitfulness
Today, we will pray against unfruitfulness. What is unfruitfulness? It means not providing satisfaction; unprofitable; or unrewarding. Unfruitfulness also means not producing offspring; sterile; not bearing fruit or harvest or barren. God has the capacity to deliver you from all forms of unfruitfulness. If you are unfruitful, that will be contrary to the commandment of God that says, “Be fruitful and multiply”. God detest stagnancy. Jesus while on earth saw a fig tree that was unproductive and He did not take it lightly with it. He rebuked the tree and it dried up.
Don’t Receive God’s Grace For Nothing
You cannot just receive God’s grace without being productive. That fig tree got all its nutrients from God, yet, it produced nothing. Many of us are like the fig tree. We receive the breath of God in our lungs and that is why we are alive today. God keeps watch over us as we sleep and wake up. He ensures that He sustains us. It is in God that we live and move and have our being. There will be no us without Him. Yet, many of us have refused to bear fruits that please Him. For instance, if you are not winning souls for the kingdom, you are not bearing fruits. If you are not using your talents for Him, you are not bearing fruits. Also, if you are not living to please God and to do His will, you are unfruitful.
In the parable of talents, that master was very angry with the unproductive servant who buried his talent. God gave you that talent, so you cannot bury it. God gave you those talents and you can not use the talents anyhow. You can only use them according to God’s will. You can not afford to live your life purposelessly. Also, remember that you will give an account one day on how you spend your time and your life here on earth. Everyone will give account and no one will be left out.
God Detest Unfruitfulness
God wants us to be fruitful. All barren women in the bible who cried unto God for the fruit of the womb received their children from God except Michal who despised David, her husband. Even Sarah at her old age bore a child. It means that fruitfulness is not a respecter of age. There is no age limit or age barrier to fruitfulness. Moses was an octogenarian when he received the call of God. Yet, he did great and mighty exploits for God. He was not only relevant in the old testament, we saw him at the Mount of transfiguration. Also, when we get to heaven, we will sing the song of Moses.
If the songs of Moses the stammerer could make it to the song list in heaven, how come that your song could not make it to the list despite the fact that you are an orator? Eloquence is not enough when it comes to spiritual matters. You need to have a heart for God?
A land can be unfruitful and unproductive for some reasons. When you sin against God you can be unfruitful. When you refuse to serve God with gladness and joyfulness for the abundance of all things, you can serve your enemies in lack and want. You can be unfruitful in your health and business when you refuse to serve the Lord. God promised to bless your bread and water and take away sickness from your midst when you serve Him. You might not also eat the fruit of the land if you are not willing and obedient. Obedience to God is very critical for your fruitfulness.
Today, as we pray to God, I pray that God will take away all forms of unfruitfulness in your life in Jesus’ name.
Prayer Points
- Father, I pray against unfruitfulness in my life in Jesus’ name. I pray that I will bring forth my fruits in its season in Jesus’ name. I pray that my leaves will not wither and I will prosper in everything I lay my hands upon in Jesus’ name
Matthew 21:19
Seeing a lone fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it except leaves only; and He *said to it, “No longer shall there ever be any fruit from you.” And at once the fig tree withered.
2. Father, I pray that my palm branch will be green in Jesus’ name. I pray that I will not drop off my unripe grape like the vine and I will not cast off my flower like the olive tree in Jesus’ name. I pray against unfruitfulness in BKCC in Jesus’ name
Job 15:32-33
“It will be accomplished before his time, and his palm branch will not be green. “He will drop off his unripe grape like the vine, and will cast off his flower like the olive tree.
3. Father, I pray that the kingdom of God will not be taken away from me in Jesus’ name. I pray that I will produce fruits that align with the kingdom of God
Matthew 21:43
Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people, producing the fruit of it.
4. Father, I pray that my land will not yield thorns and thistles in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will make me fruitful in the land in Jesus’ name.
Hebrews 6:7-8
For ground that drinks the rain which often falls on it and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is also tilled, receives a blessing from God; but if it yields thorns and thistles, it is worthless and close to being cursed, and it ends up being burned.
5. Father, I pray that my crops will not be given to grasshoppers in Jesus’ name. I pray that the product of my labor shall not be given to locusts. I pray against unfruitfulness in Jesus’ name
Psalm 78:46
He gave also their crops to the grasshopper and the product of their labor to the locust.
God Can Make Your Land Fruitful
6. Father, I pray that my rivers will not change into a wilderness in Jesus’ name. I pray that my springs of water will not chnage into a thirsty groundI pray that my fruitful land will not change into a salt waste in Jesus’ name. I pray against unfruitfulness in my home in Jesus’ name
Psalm 107:33-34
He changes rivers into a wilderness and springs of water into a thirsty ground; A fruitful land into a salt waste, because of the wickedness of those who dwell in it.
7. Father, I pray that my acres of vineyard will yield bountifully in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray against unfruitfulness in my business in Jesus’ name
Isaiah 5:10
“For ten acres of vineyard will yield only one bath of wine, and a homer of seed will yield but an ephah of grain.”
8. Father, I pray that my land will yield its increase in Jesus’ name. I pray that strangers will not destroy the works of my hands. I pray against unfruitfulness in my career in Jesus’ name
Hosea 8:7
For they sow the wind and they reap the whirlwind. The standing grain has no heads; It yields no grain. should it yield, strangers would swallow it up.
9. Father, I pray that I will be fruitful in whatever I lay my hands upon in Jesus’ name. Lord, I pray that you will bless me from this day on in Jesus’ name
Haggai 2:19
Is the seed still in the barn? Even including the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate and the olive tree, it has not borne fruit. Yet from this day on I will bless you.’”
10. Father, I pray that the worry of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth will not choke your Word in my life in Jesus’ name. I pray against unfruitfulness in my spiritual life in Jesus’ name
Matthew 13:22
And the one on whom seed was sown among the thorns, this is the man who hears the word, and the worry of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
When You Abide In God You Will Bear Fruits
11. Father, I pray for the grace to abide in you. I pray that as I abide in you, I will bear much fruit in Jesus’ name. I pray that I will be fruitful spiritually in Jesus’ name
John 15:4
Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me.
12. Father, I pray for the grace to constantly bear fruits in Jesus’ name. I pray for the grace to finish strong in Jesus’ name. I pray that I will be fruitful throughout my lifetime in Jesus’ name.
John 15:6
If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned.
13. Father, I pray that I will always bear fruit in keeping with repentance. I pray that I will continually bear good fruit in Jesus’ name
Matthew 3:8-10
Therefore bear fruit in keeping with repentance; and do not suppose that you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham for our father’; for I say to you that from these stones God is able to raise up children to Abraham. The axe is already laid at the root of the trees; therefore every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
14. Father, I pray that I will not use up God’s resources without producing commensurate fruits in Jesus’ name. I pray that I will nurture your gifts and talents in Jesus’ name
Luke 13:6-9
And He began telling this parable: “A man had a fig tree which had been planted in his vineyard; and he came looking for fruit on it and did not find any. And he said to the vineyard-keeper, ‘Behold, for three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree without finding any. Cut it down! Why does it even use up the ground?’ And he answered and said to him, ‘Let it alone, sir, for this year too, until I dig around it and put in fertilizer; and if it bears fruit next year, fine; but if not, cut it down.’”
15. Father, I pray that you will prune me so that I can bear more fruits in Jesus’ name. I pray against unfruitfulness in every area of my life in Jesus’ name.
John 15:2
Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit.
